I actually miss this band a lot.

 

I miss this band more than anything.

 

Mark Hoppus predicted a MCR reunion in 2018.

 

I'll get in on this too... I have a youtube video on my channel from The Black Parade Tour in 2007 and someone this afternoon commented how much they missed this band.

I do to. So much. I was so lucky to get to see them 11 times but damn it, it wasn't enough.

And I never got to see "Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back" live.

 

I never got to see them at all.

 

Save Yourself is such a good song.

 

So many of my top MCR lyrics in that song.

I'll tell you all how the story ends, where the good guys die and the bad guys win

It ain't about all the friends you made, but the graffiti they write on your grave

And of course...
YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!!

 

Bullets is also my favorite.

My first MCR show was in early 2002. They were the first band on an absurd bill: MCR, Thrice, and The Used. The Used never got to play because the fire marshal shut down the show.

In that 2002-2003 Bullets era, I saw MCR in some insane places. Opening for Sick of It All on a boat that circled around New York City. The entire crowd was flying from side to side of the boat as they played.

On an indoor soccer field in Oceanside, NY at Oil City Skate Park. There were probably 15 people there and the stage was on the ground, and we all were running on it, screaming in the mics and kicking monitors.

Club Krome in NJ for Halloween in 2003. What a lineup: A Static Lullaby, Vaux, Murder by Death, Senes Fail, and MCR.

Plenty of great shows at The Downtown in Farmingdale, including one which was the footage for the first version of the "I'm Not Okay" video.

Ah, man...so many memories.

Want to say this was July 2003 at The Downtown, when they opened for Coheed. Peep that Eyeball Records sticker, RIP. Disposable cameras FTW.





Halloween 2003, MCR boardie meetup. Still friends with some of these people on social media, others I haven't spoken to in well over a decade. Spacey, the guy in the white T, has recordings of like...every old MCR show in a vault somewhere. I'm the sweaty one slouched over the girl. #younginternetlove
