Also, its weird to me how much more backlash Busted gets here than bands like Blink. Obviously I've seen Blink get trashed a lot recently too, but it seems to me that Busted gets a lot more shit than many other bands that are very similar

I still haven't listened to all of California, but of the four songs I know I've listened to I'm afraid to

Sample size my friend. One has/had a much bigger fan base, and one does not. More fans and detractors

I hope Skiba is well and happy - 1 year of Blink money has gotta be like a decade of Trio stuff at least

I know, that's why I said in general Busted seems to get more shit, wasn't talking about any individual

I guess I'm just remembering things differently. I was in love with the white EP and everything Green did before that point (including the demos). Then this other guy comes along with a recording of I Can Tell, which was better than the Green version. Then some time passed, and the first version of Bury Your Head came out, which sounded a lot like the white EP Saosin.

I've never seen either guy live, for whatever reason, not sure why exactly.

I agree when you compare them today, Cover is doing something (Dead American) but that can't hold a candle to Green.

I prefer cove on the s/t to anthony green on any album, but anthony is a pretty unbeatable live performer

    Ok then.

However, until the California cycle I rarely saw Blink get shit on at all.

Well the first version of I Can Tell (with Anthony) is just a demo while the one released on that compilation with Cove is the finished product, so year I definitely prefer the Cove version of that song if only because it's not the same basic 4/4 beat repeated for three and a half minutes.

But you should definitely see Circa Survive or Saosin live because Anthony Green is one of the best performers I've ever seen.

Yea, I don't know why I never seen them. I've seen all the biggies in that genre from around that time.

Weren't they one of the main grunge bands in the 90s with Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden?

You know a really good rock band for the past 10-15 years is, Fucked Up. All their albums are good. Can't comment on all the fucking eps/7"/12"/Singles there's just so many at this point because I haven't heard them all.

Yes, though Alice in Chains was on the slower side of grunge. Sound Garden is often referred to as the "Led Zepplin of Grunge."

They were lumped in with those bands, since they were from Seattle and around at the same time, but they were always more metal.

Dirt by Alice In Chains is an incredible piece of work but they influenced a lottttt of crap

Jerry Cantrell is one of the best guitarists in metal. He needs to join deftones full time and solo over everything.
