Bon Iver, Machine Drum and Chance's albums were the most disappointing albums of last year.

None of it really connected with me. I'm a big fan of his footwork/jungle sound of his last two albums, so this kind of jarred me a bit. And it's not necessarily the sugary sweet feel to it, I just didn't feel it.

i mean i think rooms and vapor city are better but i still found plenty to love with human energy, it was in the same lane as like rustie and hudmo and did that sound justice while still being uniquely travis's work

most disappointing last year was probably andy stott, it just did nothing for me. luxury problems is a top 10 of the decade so far, and faith in strangers was a cool follow up. too many voices was just kind of...there. like he cant decide what to do next and its just a stop gap release until he figures it out

I wouldn't say it was that disappointing. There was still a lot to like on it. But I suppose compared to the two previous, it is a little. The best album to come out on Modern Love last years was Low Jack's album. It was superb. G.H.'s album was pretty great too.

Unsilent death is my favorite and I loved abandon all life as well. This album they just seemed to want to appeal to the overall metal audience more. Which I get, but sucks.

theres something elitist about the phrase "you will never be one of us" and i started hearing shit about todd being a huge meat head douche that turned me off to the record and made that phrase take on an ugly meaning

Yeah he is like the spearhead of half the hardcore kids I know from jersey who want their scene to be super exclusive and spend half their bands set talking about it rather than just playing fucking music.
