Man I would love an Ahsoka film so much, but it would probably be tough to sell general audiences for a live action feature film where an alien was the main character. Even for Star Wars. Hopefully it's possible down the line.

I still disagree with most of that analysis and the video itself, but I don't think anyone's mind is changing so agree to disagree and move on I guess.

As much as I love Ashoka, I don't know if there's a story left to tell about her that we haven't seen in Clone Wars/Rebels/her novel that's big enough for film. She works well as a thread connecting the Republic and Rebellion but I think a film would have to go past Jedi and at that point there's other stories/characters I'd want to see more.

From what people said (I haven't seen it) its a weekly show called Jedi Council on the Collider youtube page. Since it comes out weekly, I'm not sure if they are making fun of a certain episode or not.

This is one of the only movies I've ever seen in theaters and fallen asleep. I couldn't buy the villains motivations at all and also the twist was that it was Idris Elba lol. I will say, I fucking loved Sabotage scene. It was so fucking dumb and over the top. I was laughing the whole time and had a blast, I wish the whole movie was that brazenly stupid.

Just saw it....loved it. Didn't mind most of hte other stuff other people did but I usually don't. Vader coming out of the door and wrecking shit was awesome.

I'm with you on this. I felt like I was watching an episode of Power rangers.

Just saw this. The characterization was awful. I didn't feel a connection with anyone. And honestly the film could have been condensed into a 30 minute short. Some of the fanfare was great, but overall I felt like this was an underwhelming film.

At no point are you ever supposed to feel any connection to any of the characters in a war film

    I do not exist.

Last proper war film I saw was Fury and I felt a connection to all of the characters in that damn tank...!

Not feeling a connection to characters in a war film doesn't necessarily impact someone's enjoyment of said film, but it is a legitimate criticism of a film if it did hinder their enjoyment.

On a serious note, I really enjoyed Ben Mendelsohn's performance. He seemed to command every scene he was in (except the one with Vader). He really brought out the power trip that Krennic was constantly on, like when he demanded that the Imperials get their fighters in the air at the kyber facility and when he ordered the officers to deploy the garrison on Scarif after the rebel attack, even though he wasn't in command at either location. Really pulled off the definition of the bravado of the "I'm in charge here" guy.

Krennic was a cool character and a very different type of villain for Star Wars. Seeing him get killed by the very thing he was trying so hard to command was a fitting end.

I agree on Krennic, he was one the best things this had going for it.

Am I the only one who thought Mendelsohn was totally wasted in his role? The looming presence of both Vader and Tarkin made Krennic feel like a throwaway with no real resolution, a la Bane from The Dark Knight Rises. (see also: Ben Mendelsohn's character in The Dark Knight Rises)
