Because he has no legitimate sniper to feed. Jordan Eberle has been a shell of his former self and that's why he's been dropped to the third line in this game. With a true goal scorer on his line, he'd probably be close to 60 at this point.

 

Sounds like deadline moves coming up for the Oilers then.

 

Eberle is a good player but he's been really average this year. They could use another winger if they make any deadline moves.

I give Schiefle credit for the glove drop there because he wears the A AND he was the one who hung Laine out to dry. Good move by a team leader to kind of attempt to make up for the suicide pass.

That being said the whole bigger guy/smaller guy thing from the post you replied to doesn't apply here, Laine has 4 inches and 10+ lbs on McCabe.

 

Laine walked to the team bus by himself after the game and seemed to be okay. Not definitive proof I guess but that's a good sign.

Definitely a disappointing loss for the Jackets last night. Hopefully they can rebound. And as always, really enjoy Jackets Twitter. I miss their back and forth with the Kings.

 

That's fucking awful. For the sake of his own health, obviously, but also for the chance that someone as outstanding and promising as this kid potentially not being able to regain his form is extra depressing.

 

Just because there's no timetable doesn't necessarily mean it's a severe concussion. Its way smarter for a team to say no timetable, IMO, because who knows how that player's body will respond?

 

A little late on this but Nicolas Roy and Julien Gauthier both looked great for Team Canada. Can't wait to see them on the Canes in the near future. Francis has built such a solid stable of prospects.
