  1. Yea, clean hit, but I'm fairly sure his head hit the ice after he came down.

I love a big hit, but that sucks. I don't want to see Laine missing any time

  3. That hit was huge. Hope he's okay.

This has been a fun game.

Just got home and saw a GIF leading up to that hit and Schiefele broooo that suicide pass...

there isn't a proper word for the setting sun.

    What's the status on Laine?

So sick of fights after big hits, though. Play the damn game.

  6. Probably concussion protocol now.

Hope he's all right. Shitty way to start a career if not.

Are you serious? Why? Fighting after big hits is a huge way for players to stand up for their team mates. especially when smaller players take big hits, I love when an enforcer on the team goes after the one that hit them.

I get what you're saying, but a good hit is a good hit. Fight for your goalie, or because of a spear to the groin. Fight for Gaudreau when he has his hands hacked. Anything else I find so disruptive.

    It was a clean hit

i dno... i see where youre coming from as well but i just disagree. as an oilers fan, if McDavid takes a huge hit, im waiting for guys like Kassian and Lucic to retaliate. it sends a message to the other team about roughing up star players on the team.

if im going to be 100% honest, i dont always care if its a clean hit. if someone on your team gets busted by someone bigger than him, you just want your team to take it? what is the role of enforcers then?

You go out and give someone else a clean hit on the next shift

You don't go try to be a tough guy and jump someone

Fair enough, I get that. I feel like I've seen it so much (and not just star players) the last couple of seasons, though.

    Fun must be always. Prestigious

old school enforcers should be out of the NHL.

New school enforcers should be able to score some points and be able to draw some penalties.

Speaking of McDavid; I'm watching the Oilers for the first time in forever. Stoked.

i agree, you dont always have to immediately drop the gloves - an enforcer should also be able to fight back with a clean hit. in that Jets - Sabres hit, i totally support the immediate glove drop.

Man, how does McDavid not have 60 points already?

  20. The funny thing is, speaking of enforcers, is that after the hit, it was Schiefele - a top point producer - that went after McCabe.

Game's already over, but holy fucking fuck Marner with an AOTY candidate right there. Perfectly placed one-touch backhand sauce. Dear god.

    Holy shit, Miles Wood.

  23. Pretty damn good but I think Julien Baker's new one will eventually supplant it

He's been pretty much the only redeeming thing about this team the past few weeks

There was a thread on HfBoards where a user concluded that Wood is "two frames faster than McDavid from blue line to blue line" (or something of that ilk). Pretty incredible. HFBoards I mean. ;)
