    Cursed by my ancestry

I have no clue what direction they are going to go in. They say that they never want to make the same album twice, so I can't see them making anything rock oriented again. If their next album progresses in the same direction as ABAP I am not excited.

You won't have to wait long to find out, we should be getting a new FOB album this year since AB/AP turns 2 in a couple weeks

Chevelle is iconic. Hum is fine. Deftones are incredible. Tool are legends. Failure owns. Puddle of Mudd sucks ass. Shiner is underrated.

Maybe the most drunk I've ever been I sang "She Hates Me" by Puddle of Mudd on the counter of an East Lansing bar to what I remember to be enthusiastic roars of approval and adoration. I don't remember much else about the night.

I'm still trying very hard to like Radiohead and so far A Moon Shaped Pool is the only album of theirs I enjoy. Most recently, I tried listening to In Rainbows thinking it would be the album that finally clicks and it was such a chore.

I don't disregard the brilliance of Radiohead. I'm just saying there is a strange but perpetual disconnect between me and their music that I have tried and tried to break through to no avail.

I can't accept Chevelle being called "iconic" while Hum are called "fine".

stay with me but chevelle took the same riffs and improved them

also, while i love their production, riffs and atmosphere, hum's vocals are kinda meh

I like A Perfect Circle more than Tool. Is that unpopular?

Chevelle is so great though. The Clincher will always be one of my favorite songs.

Honestly listen to Hail to the Thief. It's the album of theirs that I think encapsulates Radiohead as a "rock" band the best.

The Bends clearly shows them more as a "rock" band though. HttT has Sit Down Stand Up, Backdrifts and The Gloaming for example. I'd say that record is more of a great middle point between their rock sound and electronic sound.

I do agree with you on that. I think Hail to the Thief does a good job of bridging the gap between the two sounds, and thats why it's a good realization album for a newer-listener. Radiohead didn't make sense to me until this last year when I bought Kid A on CD at Goodwill and just let it play in my car for a couple months.

APC and Tool operate in completely different lanes. They're both one of the best bands around at the separate things they do.
