On the bright side, if you can recognize that Paperthin Hymn and (*Fin) are good songs then there might be hope for you yet. :)

 

I like every Lydia album.

I'll be honest though, I'm not usually the most critical of people. I don't want to keep myself from enjoying stuff, or ruin stuff for myself through thinking too far into it.

 

I agree those 3 are great and I'll give Paperthin and Fin their "Top 2" but give a listen to:

Whisper & a Clamor
Alexithymia
Dismantle. Repair.
The Haunting
The Resistance
Disappear
Pray Tell
Art of War
Self-Starter

and their best straight up rocker with a killer guitar solo - Little Tyrants

 

I haven't listened to Lydia at all. But if the above people don't like them that actually bodes well for me.

 

Dude. We're kindred spirits. I'd replace Audrey, Start the Revolution!, Alexithymia, and Art of War with Godspeed, A Day Late, and The Unwinding Cable Car and that would basically be my list.

I have liked nothing that Lydia has put out since Illuminate. This December is one of my favorite albums ever though.

 

Anberlin has some really good songs but wayyyy too many boring ones to be held in such high regard imo

The only Lydia album I fuck with is Illuminate

 

Mad respect for your enthusiasm but I'm not sure this is helping our cause.

 

I just went through random songs I love, but honestly there isn't really a song I dislike from them. A Day Late and Cable Car are classics.

 

They do have way more soft songs than faster ones, which I never got because they like to play the heaver ones live it seemed but then would fill each cd with a lot of downer ones. Even though I like their soft stuff, I can see why someone would find it boring.

 

I definitely don't mean "hard vs. soft" songs. Harder, faster songs are boring all the time and Anberlin's got plenty of those

 

I dunno, I think their later albums lack the faster/heavier tracks. They always start out with a Godspeed, Resistance or Self Starter and then the majority of the albums are either soft or in the middle.

 

I'm gonna be honest, Linkin Park is the best band discussed on the last several pages

 

I've never considered Lydia to be a good band but their albums are a pleasant enough listen

 

I do think they have maybe the most solid discography and are up there.....but we did mention System of a Down too.

@Davjs not disagreeing, I haven't even listened to most of their albums in full so you'd know better than I would. Regardless, my point was a lot of their songs are boring to me regardless of their BPM/amplification

 

Right on. I can see that too, even though I love their sound they do have just "a sound" and can see how it'd get old.

 

Not a huge SOAD fan, they're okay

 

One of the few current pop punk bands worth a damn, imo
