Agreed on the Bail Organa intro. It's a small thing, but I think it would have been fine to have him in there at the start of the scene. It felt kind of awkward to have him just appear near the end of the conversation and just not say anything.

I didn't notice it lingering on Organa

The feel of this was very coherent from the rest of the Star Wars films. Remove a couple of recurring characters and change some proper nouns and it could be a B rate entry for a new franchise

I'm not a massive Star Wars guy: I've seen Episodes 1-6 five times or so on average, played some of the games. I haven't even seen TFA, but I caught this on Tuesday in IMAX 3D with a moderate buzz on and it was definitely my best Star Wars experience. I thought the Tarkin CGI was very impressive, personally.

Re: not seeing TFA... I don't know what's wrong with me. I own it on Bluray, but it has gone unwatched. I will absolutely watch it over the holiday weekend.

It's skippable. But I'm one of very, very few who feel that way.

Is very derivative of the OT but it's possibly the most enjoyable of the series. I rank it under Empire but it's hard to be objective about this

That's the thing with this movie for me - there're like a million really small things that would've made this better

Same. I've listed a bunch in here so it probably sounds like I hate the movie, but when I'm watching it I really enjoy it. It is a very good movie. But I feel like it could have been great with some small changes.

I'd say the Force Awakens is the most fun Star Wars movie. Fantastic cast as well. I get why people like it.

Force Awakens would be right up there with Empire if they had resisted the urge to go with a third Death Star.

Agreed. It's a good movie overall but there's so many small choices they made that had me scratching my head.

TFA and Rogue One are the only to have good acting. The original trilogy has C- acting at best, and the prequels are much worse than that.

Enjoyed this far more than TFA despite being no major fan of the franchise or have any nostalgia for the original three (other series' had more of my attention) but I feel like this one benefited from not constantly looking back at the prior films and the action was far superior to any of the other films. That battle on Scarif seriously impressed me.

For all my issues with it, this was by far the best looking Star Wars movie

It was brought to my attention that I totally slipped up and didn't fix the comment I made about the original trilogy hiring midgets in my Rogue One podcast by @Jacob Tender. I 100% meant to fix that and my apologies if it offended anyone in here. It's been fixed now and the new file has been uploaded. And many thanks to those who did listen to it. It's the most downloaded episode of the podcast so far! Here's the link again in case anyone else is interested: Welcome To Geekdom Episode 011: Rogue One

After they make the decision not to attack scarif but jyn comes out to chirrut telling her that they want to fight for her.. his line "the force is strong!" Is so hilariously random I love it

Finally saw this today, and while I thought it started off a bit slow, I was loving it by the end. The entire second half was fantastic but the final battle was just amazing. I also think this is the best looking Star Wars movie, I loved how "realistic" it was shot, if that makes sense. It felt more gritty than the rest of the series, which is good because the spinoffs need to feel different from the main series. The cast was mostly great too, and I didn't really mind the CGI characters, though seeing Leia at the end was kind of a downer because of the real life circumstances instead of the uplifting ending they were going for. That's no fault of the movie though obviously.

I did think Vader seemed a little out of character in his first scene though, I don't recall him talking like that before this movie. He even made a pun after he choked the guy lol. His scene at the end was fucking sweet though

I was very opposed to the idea of these yearly Star Wars spinoffs but if they can keep up this quality I'll gladly see all of them. Can't wait for Episode 8 next year and Han Solo feat. Childish Gambino the year after

I must be the only one who doesn't hate the choke pun. I mean I could have done without it, but in my opinion it's not too far off from him saying lines like "Apology accepted, Captain Needa" or "The Emperor isn't as forgiving as I am".

    yeah good okay Prestigious

Exxaccttlllyyy, I've been telling people this. It was a little on the nose, but it's definitely not out of character.

Yeah I agree. I guess I get people disliking it but Vader's always been a quipy ass so I didn't think it was out of character.
