Unfortunately, they opened up this can of worms with Rogue One. I really hope Lucasfilm has the sense to not do that. It would leave a pretty awful taste in my mouth.

Gonna go see again tonight. Expecting all of the feels. Ugh.

I saw it again this afternoon (after I had heard the news) and definitely got a little choked up at the end this time.

1st viewing of this was Sunday after the news of her being stable came out so I was so happy at the end. This one is gonna hurt. Fully expecting an extremely humane moment of shared grief in a dark room filled with strangers.

  8. Saw this again this evening. I liked it sooo much more this second time around.

My thoughts while watching the film: "man Peter Cushing hasn't aged much"

I had fun with the movie although there's very little character development and I didn't really get attached to any of them (except maybe C2SO). The mood is very different from the other films, which I guess is to be expected with these spin-off films

I loved this so much and that final scene just hit me like a freight train. Might sound lame, but this was an all-time film going experience for me. I'll never forget it.

I have seen this four times now. It's right on par with TFA for me. I still feel like it could have been much better with just a few scenes replacing a couple, but overall this is a great addition to the Star Wars Universe and it gives me faith that Disney won't be afraid to take chances with these spinoffs.

Also, watching A New Hope immediately after this is amazing. That opening scene when the rebels are waiting nervously at the door is insanely tense now. I keep expecting Vader to come out and wreck shit again.

Carrie Fisher's mother, Debbie Reynolds, is now in the hospital. I hope she's okay. Damn you, 2016. Just be gone already.

Saw this again. I liked it way less this time. I wish we didn't have to be constantly reminded we were watching Star Wars, and I also wish the characters had any consistent personality traits

I actually enjoyed it more on my second viewing. Still thought the beginning dragged in spots.

Edit: I will agree that the 'cameos,' aside from the two major ones, were absolutely unnecessary.

Thought the movie was great. They really put the war in Star Wars, which was cool to see. I view this movie as a small snapshot of individual soldiers rather than advancing the main characters in the series, which is probably why I didn't worry too much about forming a meaningful connection with this group. Didn't particularly think the CGI was egregious, but I was watching in 3D, which probably had something to do with it.

I'm on board with that being the case. But probably way too dark for Disney.

Not even lying, when Vader met with Krennic and left I had a vision of him heading to an office in his castle to do paperwork or something haha. But again, I think this plays into how I viewed the movie as focusing on the every day soldiers and their dealings as opposed to major players like Vader, Luke, etc.

All the references and cameos and nods to other movies. None of it was really necessary and it was all distracting. Mostly just small things, like jyn's eyes lingering on bail organa bc the audience knows who he is, even tho she doesn't. Even tarkin - and I know it's been discussed - felt like he was in there just remind the viewer that this is a Star Wars movie, with Star Wars characters.
