  1. I'll post the comp (along with its artwork) when I get home this afternoon. I have a couple more songs to upload first.

    Meet me in Montauk

@angel paste (feat. @elemenohpe) - Thriller: I really love this! A great way to open up the comp. It reminds me of Broken Social Scene and the Beatles, whom I both really love. Super impressed!

@elemenohpe - Our Lawyers..: Super impressed with all the parts of the instrumental. I thought I was listening to the original at first! Great push with the vocals too. There's no way in hell I'd be able to get that volume and height of range when it comes to singing.

@Things So Impossible - Of All the Gin Joints: Love the tone from your acoustic and your voice. I think you created a really fitting cover. The intro reminded of New Perspective by PATD which isn't a bad thing. I think the original is a very frenetic song, but you found a beautiful way to slow it down and convey the lyrics in a more meaningful sense.

@DashboardProfessional - Bang the Doldrums: Wow! The verses feel so mystical with the harmonies and the chorus is huge! You did a fantastic job with this cover. It resembles the original but it has such a nice twist. "Happily ever after below the waist" is one of my favorite FOB lyrics and delivered it so well! Your voice reminds me of Gerard Way - a plus in my books

@bradsonemanband - Dead On Arrival: The opening riff is great. The lyrics fit the mood you were aiming for! I'm getting a Jezebels/Cure vibe from this song! The chorus is epic, man! Great job!

@therookielot - Lullaby: This song's a hidden FOB gem. I really enjoyed what you did with the effect over the song. It's literally like that heavy feeling you get before you get before you fall asleep! Nice job, man!

@xkhiemster - Irresistible: I think you did a great job covering a song that's super technically challenging! I'm glad you went for it. I wouldn't have touched that song with a ten foot pool. Too daunting for me!

@nohandstoholdonto - The (After) Life of the Party: I like the attention to negative space in your cover, for example, in the first chorus you kinda leave a nice lull to let us breathe! You sang it softly but you added a lot of great accents like the "catch" in the second verse. I really enjoyed this one! Glad you contributed.

@elemenohpe - Chicago: Again with the range, man! I'm jealous. Your voice reminds me of Brendon Urie. The interlude was a nice different touch. I think it paid off once the ending kicked in ;)

@Benjamin Lee - What A Catch, Donnie: I really like the textures in this song. You do a great job of building up in the verses. What kind of piano/synth are you using? I enjoyed your playing. The song pays a great deal to the attention of the dynamics. Great interpretation!

@xkhiemster -Just One Yesterday: Again, another daunting song that I wouldn't have had the balls to do. One criticism I have is the buzzing from the distortion in the verses on the right side detracts from the rest, but I enjoyed the cover!

I'm pretty sure I had three layers of the Arturia Wurlitzer V with a different preset on each layer. Thank you!

Figured I'd try to do this.

    1. @angel paste (feat. elemenohpe) - Thriller: The vocal layering is cool as hell. Instrumentation is really cool, and the production is really good. There's a lot of atmosphere in this song. I really like how you end it too.

    2. @elemenohpe - Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued: Your voice/style really fits this song. I seem to enjoy your covers more each comp you're on, and that trend is continuing here. Good job!

    3. @Things So Impossible (Dustin Knapik) - Of All The Gin Joints In The World: I'm really jealous of how good your acoustic guitar sounds here. Also your voice. I want your voice. I really really like your cover is basically what I'm trying to say. haha

    4. @DashboardProfessional (Jared Knapik) - Bang The Doldrums: I really like the whole song, but I love the vocal effect you put on the bridge(?). Sounded really cool. Great cover.

    5. @bradsonemanband (Cootie Catcher) - Dead On Arrival: I always love your stuff Brad. The atmosphere, and guitar playing, and your voice are on fleek (fuckin' kill me for saying that). That like "big" part that starts at like 3:40ish completely wrecked me.

    6. @715creeks - Miss Missing You: I really like the intro to this. I like how the song went from kind of electric sounding in the verse, to full acoustic in the first part of the chorus. The short outro was cool as hell too. This is one of my favorites from Save Rock & Roll, and you did it justice. So thank you/good job.

    7. @therookielot - Lullaby: The effects on the song are cool. Kind of reminds me of Brand New's "Be Gone". Cool that you covered the slightly obscure hidden track from Folie too. (or at least I assume it is) haha I'm glad you're still submitting.

    8. @xkhiemster - Irresistible: The guitar playing was good, I like the acoustic take on this song. The original I'm kind of iffy on depending on the day, but you did a good job here.

    9. @nohandstoholdonto - The (After) Life Of The Party: Holy shit Audrey. This might be the best your voice has ever sounded. I wanna hear your voice on more things. The guitar playing is great as expected, and the quality is good too. 10/10

    10. @elemenohpe - Chicago Is So Two Years Ago: I don't think I've heard the original version of this song (or I have once and don't remember it). But I like this a lot. I really love when the drums come in, and because really atmospheric, then goes like, metal. haha This is cool as shit dude.

    11. Benjamin Lee - What A Catch, Donnie: I literally spent like 4 hours on this. haha I found sheet music I translated to midi and then cut bits and pieces out and brought the tempo down. Did the vocals in one take (one part at a time).

    12. @xkhiemster - Just One Yesterday: I actually saw the video you posted a bit ago. I like this. I love the little studio you have. This is my favorite song on Save Rock & Roll, and you did a good job with it.

Good job, everyone. Glad I jumped on this last minute. Here's to more comps in 2017 :wine:

  14. So is that it? We got at least one song from each album? Sweet.

Only halfway through so far. A lot of these are really mellow takes on the songs. Nice.

Oh dang, I have the same basic thing going on. (though, I had to sell my drums recently)

  18. I was gonna say for a tribute album for a pop punk band the comp was for the most part really chill, but then the ending of @elemenohpe 's Chicago is So Two Years Ago happened haha love it.

Really though, this is not what I expected at all from a Fall Out Boy comp. I like it way more than if everyone just did really close recreations of the songs though.

Listening through now, bummed I wasn't able to hop on this one. So far I'm really enjoying what everyone did with the songs, not what I was expecting at all.
