I had it on VHS, it does seem like it would be a Sinbad movie though. but insisting that it's definitely a different movie for which no evidence exists is pretty dense

Watched Die Hard tonight, because it's the best Christ movie of course.

It really is a perfect movie. Every little thing in the movie has a pay off near the end, from Al buying twinkies to the mentioning of Holly's Rolex that was gifted to her. Such a great movie.

I actually got to see Die Hard in a theater last week. It was great, but it would've been better if so many people in the audience didn't burst into applause after every third line

I somehow have never seen Die Hard, for whatever reason I don't really do action unless Tom Cruise is starring

Tom Cruise is much better as a dramatic actor. Die Hard is probably the best modern action film ever

edge of tomorrow, the first jack reacher, war of the worlds, minority report, collateral, like, four of the m:i movies, he's got a solid roster of action movies. then two highbrow masterpieces. he's fantastic

Ah man, I wish I could see it on the big screen, but I could see that getting a little annoying.

See, only one of those is what I am thinking of an action movie as. Well, that and Mission Impossible. I suppose that was too harsh of me. But Die Hard is also the greatest.

the sci-fi distinction is fair, i've never adhered all that strictly to genre labels. there's plenty of action in most sci-fi movies so i often group them together

Edge of Tomorrow is good. The rest are eh or I havent seen them (Collateral). I doubt they're better than Magnolia or Eyes Wide Shut tho

Definitely worth it overall. Plus I had an excuse to be back in Brookline and visit the Coolidge Corner theater

The only M:I movies I've seen are the first and Rogue Nation. The latter was really good.

I once said Tom Cruise has been killing in every scifi film because his actual belief in aliens gives him an edge no other actor can touch.

Tetra said it was the best thing ive ever written:heart:

Finally caught up on Blindspot (didn't realize I was only one episode behind). The show has some great ideas, but has trouble executing them in ways that are actually poignant and meaningful; as much as I enjoy the complexity of the plot, I find it hard to care. It's also not very good at surprises.

Compared to Fringe, which is also a complexly-plotted show that sort of has to do with the FBI, Blindspot has trouble reaching the same height of emotion that Fringe just nails over and over in even the smallest, quietest scenes.
