Knock Knock is one of the most laughably bad movies I've ever watched, had a blast haha

Also Carnage Park is my favorite of the year so watch that

Haha, I'm pretty liberal with the genre classification on these lists. Basically, anything I think a horror fan will enjoy is fair game, then I explain why in the description.

Yeah I mean The Guest was categorized as horror all over the place and it really isn't at all. I don't really stress over it

Horror genre classification is one of my favourite topics of discussion. There's a horror podcast I listen to where one guy spent like half an hour trying to convince his co-hosts that The Terminator is essentially an 80s slasher

    The Guest was...okay

Definitely not a kerfuffle, my man. Discussion!

Mostly I just wanted to use that word in conversation

Terminator as an 80s slasher? I could buy that argument based on the killer being an unrelenting nearly invincible murderin' machine, solely after the fight-or-flight female protagonist

    I love The Guest!

I had a friend say the exact same thing about The Terminator. When you watch it with that in mind, it hits all the beats.

I'm going I have to do that now. Good excuse to watch either way. And then maybe T2. Now you guys have me trying to put that one in the horror box too. Hardened, wiser female protagonist having to fight another version of the same monster. What up Scream 2?

    This is fun.

Just finished The Good Neighbor. I recently heard a guy talking about it on a podcast, and from what he said were his problems with it, I was expecting it to let me down in the third act. I ended up thinking that it stuck the landing though. I'll have to go back and here what he had to say specifically but I thought it was great

Glad you enjoyed it! I found the courtroom drama stuff a bit tacky, but it definitely didn't ruin the movie for me.

Watched Don't Breath last night. Pretty good, almost gagged at the turkey baster into the mouth scene

I liked Blair Witch more than the original. I wouldn't list the movies among my faves, but I do think the concept is one of the scariest to me. It might be my dislike of the dark and the woods coming together lol, but those woods have such a sense of dread and the concept of the witch and the mythology behind it really freaks me out a lot.

I thought I hated the Evil Dead remake more than really any other movie, then I saw the Blair Witch remake and I understood what true hatred was

I wouldn't say it was a bad year. there were a few strong showings and some decent mid level movies. Just not great like last year

Evil Dead remake and Blair Witch sequel were both good! I'd actually say Evil Dead was great!

This year was weird in horror for me in that I strongly disliked to hated some of the few most hyped up movies and usually I'm pretty with the consensus on horror.

Maybe u hated Blair Witch so much because u thought it was a remake, when it's a sequel

    I should watch that again

It's one of those sequels that is pretty much a remake. it was good but there's a lot of rehash.

Blair Witch had a lot of rehash but it also elaborated on the mythology which I thought was interesting since it is my favorite part of the Blair Witch. I also liked the weird time switch stuff.

My only big complaint is that he actually thought Heather might be alive still. I could buy that he wanted to know what happened to her, went to investigate, and then as the craziness happens he spirals and thinks she might be in the house when the witch is playing tricks on him, but to think she's just chilling in the woods during all that time???
