Mafia III has had a nice free update, can now customise vehicles that are in your vehicle fleet and there are 12 races available with a shiny new car if you win all of them. Also get a new outfit and a new gun if you link your My2k account. Beam.NG Drive has also had a big update which sucks since my computer can barely run it, one day I will be able to fully play that game...

NIER AUTOMATA DEMO IS OUT

uh yeah the nier demo is incredible

It takes the things I loved about Nier - incorporating bullet hell into combat, unique camera perspective shifts, the phenomenal music - and adds in combat that actually feels fantastic (thank you Platinum, our action gods) instead of the mostly serviceably but kind of bad combat of the last game. If the end of the demo is anything to go by, the action set pieces will be magnitudes more bombastic and impressive too. It's too early to say if the lore and story is as rich and exciting as the first game, but the taste given in the demo makes me think that Taro Yoko will continue to do his batshit crazy thing.

 

Really loving Astroneer. I never played No Man's Sky, but the visuals on this are incredible.

 

finally playing xcom2. So hard. So good

 

I just got my year in review from Xbox and surprise surprise my most played game of year was smite.

 

immediately went and checked out the trailer after i saw this. I got really sad because I don't have an xbox or a pc, but as a mac user I can buy the soundtrack... it's like they're mocking me that I can't play it haha.

 

So, I got a Wii U at launch. Girlfriend never plays it. Got an Xbox One for Christmas last year from said girlfriend. She never plays it. Now she has finally decided she wants a PS4 and Last Guardian, so I'm grabbing those and FFXV as a last minute Christmas addition tonight. 13 year old me with his Gamecube would be so jealous of 26 year old me finally achieving the "trinity" of consoles... just as the Wii U fades away -_-

What are the best JRPGs for PS4 that I should play?

 

Valkryia Chronicles Remastered (edit: more of a tactics game really, I just love it), I hear Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth was good (and a lot like Persona), Disgaea 5 maybe

 

Ooo Cyber Sleuth and Disgaea were on my radar but Valkyria Chronicles was not and that's totally up my alley. I also forgot there were new Tales series games. Goodbye life.

 

Disgaea 5 is a good entry in the series, +1 for Valkyrie Chronicles, Dark Cloud 2 is a PS2 game but is still pretty great. JRPGs are kind of slim pickings on PS4, sadly.

At least there's Persona 5 in four months or so.

 

Finally playing Portal 2, not sure why I hadn't before outside of thinking it was a strictly co-op thing, which it isn't.

So far the story is fantastic.

 

I love that game so much.
