Dan was in the studio the other day demoing for ALK3, so I'd say there's nothing to worry about. All of this nonsense is pure speculation

200 people asking about the release date.

70 people saying this version better have Tom on it.

20 people making dumb jokes about blink being commercialized now and how the deluxe probably only has two remixes on it(seriously do they read the article?)

500 people being pumped.

30 people saying they don't care or that California sucked yet they took the time to post a reply.

5 people saying no one cares and tht AVA is better.

Always a small selection of idiots isn't there??

 

Big Blink breaking probably after this European tour. Trio will be up and running back to full time by next fall I think.

 

I think Mark said recently that he hopes to release a blink album every 2 years, putting the next "true" album in 2019. That should be plenty of time for Alkaline Trio to do their thing before then. After the Summer tour, I can see Alk3 going into the studio next Fall. Since Dan is already working on some demos and Matt is (presumably) writing for it here and there, I can see it coming together pretty quickly. I dunno, I don't mind waiting longer for the record. I think it will just make it even more exciting and inspired from the band's perspective. Having that break is going to be a good refresher for them IMO.

Blink-182 Says Deluxe Edition of 'California' Should 'Almost be a New Album'

 

I highly doubt they include all 14 songs they mentioned. They said written, not recorded. I bet it'll be more like a bonus ep, with Hey I'm Sorry being one of those 8 or so songs.

 

Hm not sure. All I know about Dan in connection to blink was when he was congratulating them about the album.. But Mark's super nice, who wouldn't be his friend? Haha

 

I know they had that board with 8 tracks written down, but now they sound more ambitious. I'm gonna guess in between with 11 haha.

 

Anyone know ANYTHING about proposed dates or venues for the club shows?

 

If I had to guess... Soma, The Wiltern, The Palladium. It said the shows would be in California and by that they definitely only mean LA or San Diego lol

 

Yeah those make sense as venues. Hoping they give some advance notice for dates so out of towners can consider it too.

I understand the Trio fans beginning to feel anxious about all this but honestly that interview just made me so happy. California wasn't my favorite album of 2016 b

I just looked back at that board with the tracks and neither "Parking Lot" or "Misery" are listed, so that's at least 10 track names now.

My hope is that the deluxe version contains 4 really strong tracks (including Hey I'm Sorry) so that I can create a 12 song track list that doesn't miss a beat from start to finish

Well we know that probably at least half of those bonus tracks are going to be remixes.

 

That looks exactly like what I would pick from California. Let's see how this goes!

 

Also since Matt joined I've gone from having 10 ALK3 songs to buying their whole catalogue. So they'd have to be a few like me bolstering their sales

 

I wish this deluxe album came out right at Christmas. Would be a perfect gift really.

Regardless, I feel so spoiled that we'll have gotten 20 something songs from blink within a year. Every time they release new music makes me the most hyped up I've ever been.

Fingers crossed they graze across the US before heading to the UK. Would love to catch them again next year. Jealous of those getting to hear California in full. I wish more bands would do that in general for new releases.

 

I'd love to hear some high energy Matt songs along the lines of Private Eye, Steamer Trunk, Fatally Yours

 

I wish they'd just go and release that "post-hardcore" song that they mentioned. Would love to hear screamy Mark/Matt and heavy Trav Trav

 

Remember that time on AP where we all thought Dogs Eating Dogs would be a Christmas EP so we came up with all those Christmas titles from blink songs? That was fun.

 

Stockholm Syndrome is one of my favorite blink songs ever so super anticipating that one.

In pretty sure it is 6/8. I remember Mark calling it the heaviest blink song they've ever done.
