Big Sean strikes me as a dude who laughs at his own jokes and/or corny punchlines

He got kind of alright on DSP but recent material is not very encouraging. Bounce back total drake rip and verse on champions flatlined because he drops "Honda CRX" lol

He's essentially like J Cole if Cole had someone to tell him "that line is fucking terrible" or "can you make this a fraction less corny?"

Big Sean pretty frequently gets amazing beats as well. I enjoy the guy but he's definitely corny and not mind blowing or anything.

I just wanted to post a quick message here and I want people to remember it for how they approach the thread going forward, and threads like this one. I hope this makes sense and doesn't come across as rambling or hypocritical. Let me know if it does.

As long as one's opinion doesn't involve personal attacks, flaming, or discrimination, I don't think we should get too aggressive, if at all, because that's what happens a lot of the time and it's not necessary. A lot of it comes down to misunderstanding and miscommunication, which happens very often via text.

For the most part, somebody's mere like or dislike of something (books/movies/games/music/tv and other art/entertainment) does not immediately affect your personal health, income, or well-being. So try to not over react. It may upset or hurt you and that's understandable, and I think we've all been there because we hold media close to us. And it has gotten us through tough times. Personally, Circa Survive did that for me. I know back in the day I may have gotten aggressive, but don't hold that against me haha. But please remember, not everyone knows about your experiences. And we can't expect them to unless we've told them.

And while it is fine to dislike something, it's how you express that dislike and the words and phrasing you choose that matters. That goes into realizing that because people hold art close to them, they will react in different ways. And it is best to avoid being too aggressive or harsh in said dislike as we do not want to provoke. I know trolls will be trolls, but I'd like to think a lot of people on here are better than that, and wouldn't be hypocrites.

If an opinion seems ignorant or actually harmful or otherwise problematic, educate them about it. And if they're not willing to listen or understand, then at least you've tried and informed them. Otherwise, as always, please do feel free to message a mod or Jason or use the report button if something is sexist/racist/homophobic or otherwise bigoted, breaks the rules, delves into unnecessary cursing/personal attacks.

Take a few minutes before responding to something, if you want to respond at all.

    Thanks. :D
