same, towards the end I was nervous they were going to force it (no pun intended, I'm not vader), but I thought the hugging till their death was perfect.

I need to see this again. Really enjoyed it. I accidentally saw it in 3D. Won't make that mistake again.

I mentioned this in my initial thoughts but haven't seen anybody echo then so I'm curious: did anyone else think Forest Whitaker was really distractingly awful in this? I thought he was very very bad.

I thought he could have toned it down a bit. But overall I thought this is a character whose extremism has made him enemies in the Empire and Rebel alliance, so the portrayal made sense to me as he's likely someone who's losing his mind a little with paranoia.

He seemed to be purposefully outrageous. His character was definitely my least favorite of the bunch though.

I caught part of AOTC the other day because it was on TV and it instantly made me glad that this and TFA exist haha.

I saw the part in Revenge of the Sith where Mace has the Emperor pinned down, easily able to kill him, and the exchange is...

Mace: You're under arrest, my lord.
    *moments later*
Anakin: You can't [kill him]! He must stand trial!
Mace: He has control of the Senate and the courts... He's too dangerous to be left alive!

He just said he was going to arrest him when he could have killed him, then explains why he's too dangerous to be left alive... I had to turn it off. Luckily this movie washed the bad taste out of my mouth. haha.

Haha. The part of AOTC I caught was when Anakin and Padme went to Naboo since it wasn't safe for her and the dialogue just felt so forced.

haha I know, just the fact that they were even together was forced, honestly. The Jedi constantly talked about how Anakin's fear of loss could turn him to the darkside, Anakin constantly talked about his obsession with Padme, yet who do they send to go be alone with her? They wrote every character in those movies to be an idiot.

I'll stop complaining about those now since everyone can and will going on forever about the awfulness of those movies. haha.

I think their relationship was handled way better in Clone Wars than the movies. So I'll just focus more on that instead.

yeah I'm trying to work my way through Clone Wars, I hear the show actually helps you like his character. I'm still in season one though and it's a bit rough

The dialogue in the prequels is one of the worst thing about them, besides the CGI

the thing that upset me the most in the prequels was when they are having a conversation, no action, in palpatine's office, and the whole office including the chair was cgi. like are you kidding me, you can't build an office. love so much how practical rogue one was.

It was like dropping Obi-Wan into a really bad, boring Pixar movie.

There are a lot of really bad movies that are better than the prequels. I hope that doesn't become the default response to criticism of new Star Wars movies.

It really starts to find it's ground in season three, but seasons 4 and 5 are some the best material in Star Wars canon.
