i'm trying to estimate how many women worldwide care about what piers morgan thinks feminism should be and like... it's gotta be less than fifteen, right?

 

Piers Morgan might not be the worst person in the world but he's probably at least in the top 10

Ew. Not exactly a coworker but someone in the building apparently judges women by who he'd sleep with and has a short list like "there's only a few I'd have sex with" (his words were move vulgar than mine) like it it's some honor to be on it or something or that the women would even consent like he's just entitled to it, and started talking about the "ugly" people in the building and it makes me really uncomfortable. Like I'm just walking around minding my own business in life and don't want to feel like I'm being judged in that context or way when I'm working, or at all. Why are men so gross? It's just really mean. Like I don't ever think "ew that person is ugly" when I see someone. I guess I notice when I think someone is attractive but to sit there and pick out and talk about "ugly" people is really cruel and then the flipside is being on the gross objectified list. knowing people think that way makes me feel not great.

And the person who told me this is all "well he's a man that's how he thinks" like no stop babying them it's gross call it what it is.

I said the man was mean and gross and that being a man doesn't give them a pass to act that way. They didn't say anything. They agreed that what the guy said was wrong but more in a laughing "omg that's so mean!" way than actually caring.

 

The Love Witch is a feminist occult film about a witch who seduces men, then kills them when they inevitably disappoint her. It's one of the most interesting cinematic accomplishments of the year, and Anna Biller's work (she directed it, and designed the costumes and sets) should be recognized because it's really something special. It's a weird movie, but an engrossing and beautiful one. I got to review it for Chorus, which I'm grateful for because it's a small movie and so singularly and emphatically Biller's vision, which again deserves a heck of a lot of respect and attention, but there are some really great pieces by women about it that can do it more justice (I'm a fan of Amy Nicholson and her review).

I feel like she equates oppression with being special and gaining attention and she wants it all

How many more chances does she want?! Would be so good in 2017 if we just stopped giving people like Lena Dunham & Amy Schumer any sort of platform whatsoever.

 

i'm almost at the point where i think Lena Dunham is actually just an MRA seeking to undo feminism from within with her bullshit

 

For real. Like @Kiana said she looks at this stuff like it makes you special. Does she even think about these things or does she just word vomit without thinking? I would feel better if she was seeking attention, honestly. She's seriously that ignorant and I can't tell you how many people I know that think she is the ultimate feminist.

 

I think she doesn't think before she speaks and thinks that any criticism is just because of her weight or politics, which some of it is and some of that is misguided

 

I feel like she almost had a point. She was talking about her own preconceived notions about abortion that she was ashamed of and that itself could've been a great topic of discussion - how even pro choice ppl can be judgemental and want everyone to know they haven't had one. But then she word vomits and needs to feel special or included? She seems like she can't understand someone unless she's been through the experience herself? Idk she has a self centered view.
