I enjoyed this one a lot, but it'll end be being pretty middle of the pack for my end of the year list. To me, the premise would have been so much better if they just left the whole supernatural aspect out of it. I wish Lloyds character would have just been a regular serial killerIt is definitely unfair of me to want to rewrite such a significant part of the plot tho haha.

Agreed with Cory, I Am Not a Serial Killer was great until it's silly/awful ending

 

Just finished They're Watching. Pretty good until the cheesy CGI at the end.

Watched Silent Night, Deadly Night for the first time last night. Was expecting something a bit more Christmasy, but it was still a fun movie

 

Lol my girlfriend was in the same room playing a computer game, saw what was happening on screen and laughed for 5 minutes

 

I'm sure the camp was intentional, it was the payoff for the whole cheesy movie

 

Lordy I hope it was intentional haha

My three worst or most disappointing include Hush, Antibirth, and Evolution.

Definitely missed a few goodies this year I know I need to watch.

 

I tried to watch I Am Not A Serial Killer last night and Netflix was not cooperating. Hmmph. Okay so if I'm rating by best, and not favorite, I'd say The Witch wins based on its premise, cinematography, execution, etc, butttt again I'm a homer for Elizabeth Mitchell, so mine will end up being something like:

I'll probably watch Train to Busan before the end of the year as well.

See, I thought that's what made it so interesting. I went in nothing nothing about it (thankfully I didn't read Netflix's plot description beforehand), so that angle caught me off guard in a good way. The ending could have been handled a little better though.

 

Too indecisive to do a definitive Top 10, but for my money The Witch is the year's best horror film.

 

To each their own! I checked out the movie without knowing anything either, except that Lloyd was supposed to be putting on a stellar performance. Then when it had that reveal, I just sort of cringed.

 

Saw this one back in October at a film festival and it really stuck with me.

How is the Tales from the Darkside show? I saw the complete series at Wal Mart for thirty bucks and I'm wondering if I should check it out

 

It was the surprise screening at my local film festival this year.

 

I'm pretty sure I purchased the same set and didn't get past the first disc haha. It was rough.
