Rihanna's ANTI is that yearly album that appears on so many lists and makes me really scratch my head.

 

It's a really great album imo but I don't think it's top 20 good. I think a lot of it comes from it being Rihanna's best album.

 

i think ANTI is a pretty impressive accomplishment

 

It's a fantastic record

 

Anti is fucking great, and I have not liked a Rihanna album since her first one (I do think Rude Boy was a banger though)

This year was tough. There was so much good music, but it made it hard to pay attention to everything.

Here are my Top 25 though, which includes EPs as well. The top 3 are are definitive. 4-10 could probably be rearranged depending on the day, and I cheated a bit by combining Nada Surfs new album with the live one they put out recently. 11-25 I had a bit of a hard time with, in terms of ordering. That could also be rearranged depending on my mood, but I had to stop at some point.

I think I'm ready to just stop thinking about this so much. I don't see this list changing much between now and the next couple weeks since I didn't get to play catch up much this month due to the end of the semester and some personal issues.

Anyway, these are the albums that I loved this year that really grabbed me and held my attention, or that I came back to after a while and still found myself loving them. My #1 has absolutely become a very important album in my life.

I do agree, and I really like that song, but for some reasons it just doesn't feel like it fits on the album for me. I can't really complain because it's awesome, but it feels weird every time I get there in the album

 

its definitely an outlier and comes at a weird spot but its really good

 

Yeah woo is the only misstep on anti imo. And maybe relegating sex with me to bonus track

 

I like Goodnight Gotham too as an interlude, but i honestly don't know where it would have fit

 

I made a bunch of tough cuts on this top 50, lot of stuff I loved this year

 

Still digesting YG, Posture and the Grizzly, Kevin Gates, Skepta, and Ash Borer. Though here is my top 10 songs and my fav albums.
