Poetry has always been a go to for me to describe myself both from a loving sense to an angry/depressed/etc sense.

 

i crush on people very easily, but intense feelings don't develop that often and even when they do, they tend to be for people i know i wouldn't be compatible with so i force myself to get over it within a few months.

i also have a lot of trouble distinguishing between crush-type feelings of a romantic nature and feelings of "i want them to be my friend!!". they're very similar to me, unless there's physical attraction involved.

 

Does love at first sight count if you talked online for a few months and when you finally saw them irl you were like yup I'm in love

 

Too scared to take the chance, I suppose. I mean, back then and for a long time afterward I rationalized it away with a few things, mainly that she was going to school a few hours across the state. She was in my life in some capacity from 14-22. We're facebook friends but I log onto facebook once a month. We basically don't talk anymore, which is a bummer because she was pretty instrumental in helping me through my teenage years and early 20's.

I don't believe in love at first sight but sometimes from the moment I set eyes on a girl I just get that old fashioned romantic feeling...where I'd do anything to bone her.

I get the "oh they're cute" thing and then talk myself out of it by picking out every perceived flaw. the guy who works for my company that I had a crush on killed it by citing Big Bang Theory as his fave show and like I know it makes me a jerk to do that like I'm not above anyone else but I think it allows me to be like "oh well we'd never be anyway so now I don't have to take a risk or make an effort!"

I write this all knowing she's gonna read it haha, but it's entirely true. When I met my girlfriend I thought she was completely gorgeous but I also was not in the right place mentally to be able to date. I had just left my job and was struggling a lot. She was just a friend to me and the more we spent time together, the more I knew she was who I wanted to be with. But she was a "what if" to me for so long and one day I finally got just an ounce of courage and now all of a sudden I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life. It's crazy how one moment can change your life like that and I wouldn't trade that moment for the world. There's nowhere I'd rather be than with her.

another friend just announced he is getting married and all I can think is ether I'm behind on finding someone or everyone else is just getting married fast.

Yeah, you and I are about the same age and everyone in my high school class is either getting married or having kids. I don't think you're behind or they're too fast, I think people just move at different speeds. Right now I don't feel ready to get married but I'm also single so, it's hard to say.

 

I'm 30 and even if marriage was something I was interested in, I'm still not ready for that. There's no benchmark age for any life event and you don't have to hit those check marks with everyone else.

 

I don't post in here and I know y'all probably don't really care but today was the last day of my fall semester and I finally got together the stomach to ask this cute girl in my boring ass music history class if she wanted to get lunch sometime and she said yes. I haven't told anyone in case it turns out to be nothing or she starts avoiding me or something but I was happy with myself (I really don't do this often) and I just needed to let someone somewhere know
