I can't wait to finish it

 

Are they mostly sequels? I can't think of many new ips this year

 

It's always mostly sequels being released though, new IPs usually don't sell as well as established franchises, untill those franchises reach a tipping point of course. But this year new IPs and sequels haven't been doing all that great, the big exceptions apparently being Battlefield 1, Pokemon and Overwatch.

 

Does The Last Guardian count? i cant think of any either haha.

I am very excited for Horizon coming up.

Quantum Break was a new IP and it was fantastic.

 

Sold poorly. Won't be a sequel.

 

I kinda can no longer tell if Resident Evil 7 will be that good

 

Think I played a little bit too much Final Fantasy 15 in one go today, nearly five hours straight and man does that game get more brutal and emotional the longer it goes on.

Also the GOTG No Man's Sky.

 

Haven't had a chance to play it yet. :( Had to wait until I got home from work and now I have to wait until my girlfriend gets home because she wants to play it with me. It's installed and ready to go though!

 

Just got to the end of Gears of War 4...oooooooo snap! Is there a Gears thread?

 

Have to say I'm not enjoying the current mission I'm on in FF15, compared to the rest of the game prior it is really convoluted and constrained. One of the few games I have played that have gone from being played out in an environment I really enjoyed to an environment I don't in so little time. Hope it breaks free of all the corridor running soon.

Give the new one a shot, though! Please.

 

I bought Grow Up and the intro pack of Hitman in the Xbox Live Sale a few weeks ago.

Hitman is really good. It plays very well and the level design (the ones I played at least) is great. I'm even more pissed at Deus Ex: Human Revolution now, because I could have spent my money on Hitman and played a good stealth game this summer.

Grow Up is very stylish. The gameplay is pretty tedious, but that is by design. If you are able to wrap your head around it, it's a lot of fun, but I can imagine some people won't be able to.

 

Hitman is great. The level design is great (outside of one level whose gimmick is kind of obnoxious), allows for a good amount of variety and freedom in accomplishing the hits. The scripted opportunities are silly in a fun way and it's just fun fucking around with different items and disguises. The episodic release worked really well for me too - I enjoyed playing and perfecting a level in the time between releases, the timed challenges are cool and I'm glad they're still keeping with that stuff in between seasons (the Christmas content is gonna be great). Game ended up as one of my biggest surprises this year (were it not for Doom, would have been the biggest).

 

X-Com 2 makes me second guess every move I make lol. Good news is though my sniper, and ranger are staying alive. I've promoted them both three times now.


The Last Gaurdian is AMAZING so far. Loving the look of the world, and Trico's feathers have some realistic ass movement to them. I can tell though I'm gonna be sad about something towards the end of the game. I feel like they're gonna hurt Trico somehow, or something worse...

Not going to lie, probably won't haha. Will most likely watch reviews/gameplay and so on, but I'm not on the hunt for 30+ hour experiences with gameplay design that annoys me.

If it is fundamentally different, then sure.

 

But the stories in Bioware games are so goooood!

Says the guy who can't get through The Witcher 1 for the exact same reason. Clunky AF.

 

I totally get this. Tried my best to play the old Witcher games -- no luck, combat is so bleh. Just skipped ahead to Witcher 3 and had no regrets.

 

Finally started The Last Guardian. So in love with it so far, but yeah like Cameron said, If they hurt this damn animal I am going to cry.

 

Just finished The Last Guardian a few minutes ago.

10/10.

Would play again.
