yes yes yes yes. when i first heard that song, i immediately was like, "holy shit!" and smiled from ear to ear.

 

While I agree they haven't exactly had the chance to write many pop songs since 2006 lol

 

I love that song now but first listen I couldn't stand the an an ans. still hate that part.

Also what happened to blink? When did they turn to an all girl band? I knew Tom got kicked out then I saw this music video and got really confused. HELP

Fine, best pop song since What's My Age Again. I said that the day California came out as well and I stand by it.

 

the first 3 tracks are sooo good. cynical, bored to death, she's out of her mind. i love all 3 of those so much.

 

Most of my favorite blink songs come from the first three to five tracks of whatever album. California is no different

 

This is mostly true for me. Dude Ranch is the only exception as the middle is definitely my favorite.

 

I like the title track, definitely not the best song on there though. But much better than the abysmal Kings of the Weekend.

 

Dude ranch I love start to finish. Even tracks I used to skip like voyeur and degenerate I've grown to genuinely enjoy.

I actually think Anthem Pt 2 is better than anything on California! Better guitars. Better melodies. TOYPAJ as a whole just SOUNDS better to me and it isn't even in my top 3 blink jointz.

Regarding the people talking about the lyrics too: I think some people are noticing how bad they are on California because the melodies just aren't good enough to cover them up. Like Anthem Part 2 has some pretty stupid words but it just sounds good so I don't care even though generally I'm the kind of jerk that finds lyrics important. Haha.

 

Oh I love the whole thing. If I was only able to keep one blink record, I pick Dude Ranch. Pretty easily actually lol.

I was listening to Dude Ranch today and realized that and California are the only albums that start with Mark's voice. In fact, almost every album's opener and closer is Tom.

 

Eh I feel like he's now in the Randy Quaid's character from Independence Day mode.

I like(d) it too and that whole album is solid. I still think it's funny how he got all serious and thought his music was going to change the world. Serious Tom is the worst.

 

I-empire is my favorite AvA album and the last one where I liked pretty much every song. Call To Arms was my jam back in the day and I even gave my fiancé a heart necklace with 'you're my only fear' engraved on it

I love that song. That "Feel your hearttttt" breakdown at the end still gives me chills.
Damn, its so weird to remember AVA as a band that actually once had enjoyable music haha.

 

That part, and Toms second verse always get me. I like the way he sings the second verse and the "can't go on gotta get up and try" thing speaks to me
