I don't really see the point in calling it AP Madden when we could come up with a new name since it is a fresh start. If you vet the dudes before they join you don't have to worry about people doing shady stuff in the background, which is how I've been doing it. I have no problem with trades happening through PMs personally, everyone who is in now plans on sticking around. They are all adults, and I believe they deserve that trust. We decided to do a complete reset, so the playoff thing is irrelevant.

The way the scheduling works now is there are two threads: Banter/Scheduling/Trades, and ANNOUNCEMENT/Rule Discussion

1. At each advance I will post the next advance time, along with all the human/human games in the Announcement/Rule Discussion thread. Each time a game is scheduled I will update the list.

2. The two human players set a time to play (preferably through PMs) and post the time in the Announcment thread. If someone sends a PM about playing and it is ignored for 8 hours, they post a screenshot of it in the announcement thread, and we throw their opponent on auto until the game is done. You can also schedule in the chat thread, but PMs and the announcement thread streamline it so that the chat isn't too convoluted.

You must schedule your game at some point before two hours before the advance deadline, any last minute schedulings there will be no guarantee it won't be simmed at advanced. However if you schedule a time, and you have to delay it closer to the advance deadline, that is fine as long as the game has started with at least half an hour to go before the deadline.

3. When the game starts, let the admins know by just posting that it has started in the announcement thread. If nobody posts that it has started, and the 48 hour deadline has passed, we will advance. This helps narrow down who is and isn't active, and keeps the league on schedule although we haven't ran into that problem.

The announcement thread is strictly for posting game times/starts, requesting an auto-pilot, and the admins posting the human/human contests. Helps keep things organized.

Edit: and I'm commissioner with my buddy Taylor (Greek Raven) helping me out if I ever need him to. Might add another admin once we hit 20 members, but I haven't decided who that will be since we have several guys who are very invested

 

You can only vet random fucks so much. They all plan on being there for the long haul. Some will, some won't.

8 hours is a bit on the short side, no? If I happen to not reply during work, I could come home and have the game played?

I don't have to be commish, but I'm not joining if it's Zporter and we're just joining his league (which is exactly what this sounds like). Mainly because I've described the shit I don't have a desire to play in and his league is everything that I don't want. If he and his buddies are commish, that's fine, but I'm out.

 

It's everybody's league man, not one person. Everyone is just looking for madden to play. Is playing with familiar faces with a fresh roster and more (seriously active) users not intriguing to you? I want everyone to join this, that's why I'm pulling so hard, I literally want more users to fill up my season schedule lol

 

If this was one person's league, this whole thing never would have happened. It's for the better good of the madden season now if we just all combine and make 1 super mutant league with the remainders. I mean hell, I bet some of the guys that tapped out would even return of they heard about this if it came from you ATL.

I just don't get what's such big a deal about a commish, I mean I'm cool with having commish(s). I just want to play some madden again

The GroupMe shit isn't a major problem with me. I'll do it if it means more Madden. But I'm not joining a ongoing league, nor would I ask for y'all to join this one since we're a few seasons in. I'll join a new league from scratch. We can vote on commish and rules.

 

It will be a fresh league, still to be made so nothing has even been touched for FA or whatever, still a bunch of solid teams left too. I'm just looking for madden as well. Everything aside, that's what it comes down to for me

 

I'm interested in a fresh start, I would recommend recruiting to fill it up because lots of people just got Madden black Friday and this is the best time to get people to join. Nobody wants to join a season already started imo

 

Yeah, I'm trying to see what all of the guys that backed out earlier in the year are doing and if they're willing to join these talks and stuff. Hopefully I'll hear back from a few

 

I believe we should have a guy from this league as co-commish. Like Slamfist, Dome, Slyck or myself if ATL doesn't want to. Plus a tinkering of a few rules.

 

I'm as down for that as anything. I think with the joint work we're doing that is more than reasonable, pretty sure Z would be cool with that, it definitely, absolutely makes a lot of sense

 

Have a mutually respected guy as the commish, say Dome or Kevin, create the league as commish. Add myself and Zporter as admins. Rules, etc decided as a whole.

Have those 3 review the backdoor bullshit deals and then it's actually "everyone's" league.

 

I'm down for helping to pay for Daddy Leagues too.

Finals week is over for me next Wednesday and then I'm 100% in but as of right now I have five finals this next week so I won't be very active until after that's over but I'll try to keep monitoring
