I've never heard of this platform, Soulseek, but it's apparently still active!

 

I definitely used to use Soulseek, a long long time ago

 

My friends who are into obscure screamo/grindcore/etc still use Soulseek quite a bit.

 

This is a pretty well done run through of EDM's rise and fall. I find it particularly interesting as I have kind of been able to watch as an outsider, this genre/lifestyle rise and fall every year at Coachella

do you like edm at all? my best friend just recently got way into it and i really don't understand it.

 

Nah, I can't get into it. Every year at Coachella I stop by the EDM tent for a bit because the light show and stage is fucking INSANE, but I just don't care for the music. Ironically, the only kind I can kinda get behind is Calvin Harris' set, but he is just making pop music anyway so I wouldn't consider that in the same world anymore

 

New Saosin confuses me for lack of a better word. It's not that I dislike the new stuff, it's just that it's hard for me to distance Anthony from Circa since that what Im used to hearing him in so when I listen to these songs they just sound like new Circa material rather than new Saosin material to me. I just dont feel the same magic for him returning to the band that I've seen others have and I feel like nothing they put out with him will ever compare to that EP because it's just so iconic (and also so different from Circa stuff). Idk, maybe they want to go a more Circa like direction with this album (in that case they're doing a good job) but it leaves me wanting something more.

Don't really care for Saosin at all, but I'll listen just because of Anthony.

 

I really enjoy both songs so far, but I'd never even heard a Saosin song until a couple weeks ago. Circa is one of my all-time favorite bands and Anthony is probably my favorite vocalist ever.

 

Something about the production on the new songs is just rubbing me the wrong way.

 

This too. I dont like the way the guitars sound for the most part.

 

The production isn't the greatest but it isn't enough to take away from my enjoyment of the songs

 

If someone could point me in the direction of a Brian Fallon thread, that'd be awesome!! Still navigating my way around and didn't see it in forums.

Slow to start, but worth watching for the rise to the climax.

 

Is anyone else as excited for Hot Hot Heat new album as me? Future Breeds was criminally underrated!

 

I haven't listened to them since Elevator, but the new single sounded pretty cool.

 

I'm having an Avatar dilemma now... I know Frabbit's new album is gonna be awesome but think I might have to switch to the HHH selftitled cover now.

 

Aw man "Future Breeds" was such a departure from the safe sound they had on Elevator & Happiness Lmt. and it was awesome! I highly suggest giving that album a spin. DOn't think I've heard anything else like it and it's still catchy as hell.

 

Elevator is an amazing album, but I honestly hate all their other albums

 

So I am late to the game, But I am going to give The Wonder Years a listen. I feel like I am missing out on some serious awesomeness.

 

If you're only going to listen to one album, go with Suburbia. If you want the complete trilogy, go with Upsides -> Suburbia -> The Greatest Generation.
