Owner mode doesn't interest me at all, but 9 new members to our already existing members puts us close to 20 members. I also think that we would be able to get some more people as well.

 

Are you talking about the game as a whole going off the rails or just this past season?

 

I'm really beginning to stray away from the whole 'super rival' feel for madden and really going for just the classic playing madden with friends type deal. Makes it overall a better experience not despising giving up touchdowns and games and stuff.

I think I'm definitely liking being able to focus more on just playing madden for the fun of it and less being hostile and hating my opponent when I let up a TD haha

But obviously the rivalries will naturally carry on, just hopefully the overall vibe of the league (if it happens) can be just chill and cool and obviously still competitive

 

The last few seasons have been off the rails. Shit would advance when it wasn't ready. Half the league was moving at a much faster pace than the rest of the league.

And it was an actual pain in the ass to log in every day to see who I was even playing. with this new app and/or daddyleagues up it would be much easier for me

 

I think there is an option to make the league coach/owners, so this can be fixed I think. I personally love owner mode so I just wanted to give members the option

 

I think that's what killed the league from the start, and probably many others, no daddyleagues sucked, but now having maddenbuddy or w/e and daddyleagues is like Christmas morning

If we do this merger, I will be posting the owner vs owner games in the announcement chat on GroupMe. Right now we have a scheduling/banter and an announcement chat for their game times/people telling us that their opponent hasn't made contact yet (which hasn't happened yet thankfully)

 

I know there was backlash for group me when it was brought up earlier in the madden season, but holy shit it's nice as hell for what madden requires for communication

The only problem I ever had with groupme was that it was too many messages. My phone would literally be blowing up with nonsense madden banter that I couldn't pay attention or even catch up. That's why I like these sites. I visit it often and if someone is looking for me I get a notification and it's easy to catch up on stuff I miss

 

Group me is much easier...the only thing with group me is you kind of have to let trade talks be done via PM

 

Yeah I agree TSL, that's the one flaw with group me is that the main chat room can definitely get spammy (which you can silence the chat so there's no notification) but having an announcement and trade group me and a separate one for general talks can somewhat fix that, + pm for game scheduling will give you a notification so you always know what's up

But I agree Slam, trade talks in pm are pretty shit but maybe having a group me for trade could work as well

 

I really want to know what some of the other league vets think about this

 

Yeah same, I don't want to get too ahead of myself because I really want this to be a pure agreement from both sides, would be awesome.

 

I would also be happy to get daddyleagues or whatever for a new league if we start one

If a fresh league starts I'd be down.

 

I'm not a fan of the idea.

1) I hate owner mode and everything about it. I also don't like the idea of some having the option for it and some opting out. It's all or nothing for me with anything like that.

2) GroupMe is shit. Everything is a clusterfuck we in to one group chat that is impossible to read. You have to do everything via DM to get shit done. It's a God awful, worthless, piece of shit. Opens up all kinds of shady back door dealings. Only gets worse when there's new people.

3) That site and message board are shit. I don't want to use them.

4) Believeland is a pussy. That shit talk was mild as hell. That's like .005% of what it used to be, but it certainly cracks my ass up him confirming that shitting on Cleveland did him in. I will never play in some pussy dick league that prefers we all be gentlemen and friends. This league actually went downhill when all the trouble makers left.

5) I have zero desire to start fresh.

6) Only thing that makes sense is the merger. One league or 20 makes more sense than 2 leagues of 9, but one league of 9 is better than playing owner mode and using GroupMe.

Ultimately, if this league is done, so be it. If AP Madden dies, it dies, but once it does, I'm going down with the ship. I've said for awhile once this league is finished, I'm out on Madden for good. There's no fresh start for me. If it's time to go, fine with me, but I won't be playing in any Absolute Madden or any version of a Quasi-AbsoluteMadden-APMadden combo. I'll stick with this league for a 100 more years, but I've played in others, I don't like em, so if it's dead, I'll be hanging up my controller for the last time.

 

If James is in I have high hopes for the others.

@Believeland you need to see how many people in that other league are willing to merge.

I'm cool with GroupMe. I honestly find it easier to use than a website because I get alerts straight to my phone. I mute the main chat and only get alerted when someone mentions me directly.

I'm in either way.

We don't have to stop playing in this league by any means. We just need to figure out how many members would join a new fresh league if we started one.

 

I mean I really don't see why some people being coaches and some owners bothers you, the only difference is you can relocate. Right now we have two chats on GroupMe, it is not convoluted at all. We trash talk but there hasn't been any pointless chatter (you can turn notifications off as well, I had to to save my battery). We are planning on doing daddyleagues if the merger happens

We also don't use the forums anymore, nothing wrong with them functionally, groupme is just easier to register on and quicker to check. A merger would be a positive, and with the draft issue that just occurred I don't see any harm in starting fresh with a daddyleagues site as well.

Edit: and like slamfist just said, this league doesn't need to die at all. There will just be more human games in the other league, people can play in both

 

They seem to be leaning towards letting new people join in the playoffs (we are wk 13 right now, strict 48 hour advance). Jags are 12-1 I think and Cowboys are 10-2 and the Vikings are 8-5 I believe

And for the record, I'm still planning on Playing in the AP league as long as there are memebers!
