I feel like Hurley is underrated. At the time it seemed like a real return to form.

  2. I do not thing that album has aged well tbh, some great tracks on it though

Yeah that's pretty much how I feel. I do think it marks a turning point for the band though.

I think if they weren't genuine about it, they wouldn't have teamed up with a producer who was so passionate about recapturing the sound and feel of The Blue Album.

Ruling Me is one of my favorite post-Pinkerton tracks.

Yes, that's such a great power pop jam. And Time Flies is a great closer.

Despite some cheesy lyrics, I also love Trainwrecks.

  9. I mostly enjoy "Trainwrecks," "Unspoken" and "Time Flies"

i've always liked "hang on" as this big dumb infectious power-pop song. the intro sounds like "just like fire would" by the saints which is nice.

Hurley breaks down like this for me
    Love:
    "Unspoken"
    "Run Away"
    "Hang On"
    Enjoy:
    "Ruling Me"
    "Trainwrecks"
    "Memories"
    "Brave New World"
Would enjoy but let's record it in shitty quality just for fun:
    "Time Flies"
    Pure hot garbage:
    "Where's My Sex"
    "Smart Girls"

The bridge in Where's my Sex is fire though

  13. Ruling Me is on par with anything on The Blue Album. Perfect song.

Pretty solid. Trainwrecks and Ruling Me are in my top tier probably though. I'm ok with Time Flies that way as the album ender, but yeah I'd have no problem with it in regular quality haha

I feel like I only ever listened to Hurley like one or two times.

  16. Memories, Where's My Sex, Smart Girls and Brave New World epitomize the term "filler." Hurley could've been a pretty amazing EP had they got rid of them.

I wonder what goes on in Rivers' head sometimes that those songs can make an album but Pig and Miss Sweeney can't.

I'd say I really enjoy those other two but lyrically eh. Musically I really really like them. I don't listen to Hurley much but there's seven songs I don't skip basically. "Time Flies" I will listen to as well. It's a good song. By no means an amazing album but overall I do enjoy it when I'm in the mood for it.

  18. "I Want to Be Something" is yet another great b-side imo

Hurley is truly awful I think but eh I guess that's just me. Better than Raditude, but only by a hair.

I actually like "Brave New World". Well, at least musically. Lyrically it kinds lacks but that's the way Weezer goes sometime hahaha

Listened to this album three times already today. I've definitely never enjoyed a Weezer album like this one before.

Blue was my first CD when I was 8 (Christmas 1994) but I didn't get Pinkerton until shortly after I got the Green Album in 2001. I always loved the Blue Album, but it it was during the Green album era in which I became a full fledged Weezer fan. Then saw them for the first time in February of 2002 just a few months before Maladroit came out, their most underrated album.

Blue and Pinkerton are still #1 and #2 for me but these last two albums show Weezer still has a good amount left in the tank.

I recognize Pinkerton as a great album and used to love it but it just doesn't do very much for me these days
I recognize Raditude as a not so good album but can still put it on and really enjoy it

    Weird

Tracks 5-10 on Pinkerton still get regular play in my Weezer listening rotation. Very strong "side B"
