The real X-Men-related tragedy is that some idiot in their department keeps hiring Greg "Tracing Porn Stars And Other Comic Art And His Own Art" Land. Whoever keeps hiring that trash artist needs fired.

Like, Marvel announced a Weapon X series. They revealed that Greg Pak is writing it. And that it stars Old Man Logan, with some other cool characters involved. But, because they put Greg Land on art, there is a 0% chance that I buy that garbage, which I'd otherwise be ecstatic about.

I think saying Marvel doesn't care about the X-Men is a misnomer, especially with the new wave of X-Men titles announced, but I do think there's some truth to the company not wanting to inject new ideas/characters into the X-Men for reasons based mostly on the movies as any new characters who are mutants would be owned by Fox for the films while Inhumans are Marvel, which is why they've seen such a big push recently. I believe there was a report a few years ago where Marvel mandated no new mutants for this reason, but I'll have to source that. I also think it says a lot that things like the new Marvel characters posters with all the characters you can imagine do not show X-Men or the FF and that's not an accident because they were on earlier versions. I think they want them to do well in comics from a simple money making perspective but don't want to provide any new characters or storylines for movies which is hampering them a little bit and why people think they are not cared about.

I really wonder if there is an endgame in place for the displaced mutants.

I don't know what "new ideas" is supposed to mean, but I see no evidence of that. Cyclops became a revolutionary leader. X-23 became Wolverine. What do want? Especially from a franchise with as many stories as the X-Men have, lol.

As for creating new mutants, there was talk of that, but Bendis created a bunch in 2013. And, Latour created one or two in 2014 (at least Nature Girl was new). And, next year's Generation X is introducing a new one. I don't think we'll see a new flagship character who's a mutant, but if that's the criteria for holding the X-Men back, I dunno, seems like much ado about nothing.

Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite announced. Showed Ryu, Megaman, Ironman, Captain Marvel, and Thanos.

Fully believe those MCU characters only rumor now.

Amazon is having $5 off $15 worth of books/comics with the code giftbook. Looking for some WW trades to pick up. Any suggestions? I've read Earth One and the current run, but sadly nothing else really as far as solo titles go.

Legend of Wonder Woman by Renae de Liz is the best. The New 52 volumes by Brian Azzarrello and Cliff Chiang is also great. So is Greg Rucka's Wonder Woman: Hiketeia. JLA: A League of One by Christopher Moeller is essentially a Wonder Woman story and is great.

Thank you! Trying to pick up more than just Batman and The Flash trades lately haha. I think I have Hiketeia in digital so I'll definitely get to that soon.

Gail Simone's WW was beloved even though I wasn't too high on it but you may enjoy it if you wanna check that out

Yeah, I was checking that out, but it's mostly from 3rd party sellers on Amazon unfortunately. May check it out on IST at some point, though.

I think I may snag this: http://amzn.to/2gVyRPv Collects The Hiketeia and WW #195-205 by Rucka. Because my digital copy of the former is not through Comixology or anything.

I adore it. One of my favorites at this point. On Goodreads I voted for it for the best comic of the year. Both trades are under 10 dollars on Amazon too so it's totally worth it.

I foolishly have been asking for recs in here and never writing them down somewhere. Finally adding them to my giant comics spreadsheet I have. Went back to find the Superman recs you guys gave me, including the recent WW ones, but I may be too lazy to search through 129 pages of this thread for anything else I may have asked for recs on haha. How do you all keep track of what you want to read typically?

Hah fair. I have a bunch on my shelf and a pile starting. I've been trying to keep track of the ones I don't own (yet) or if it's Marvel stuff I have a MU reading list tab, which I'm horrible at updating.

I tend to buy things based on sales or whims. Like, I zeroed in on Superman after that horrible film earlier this year, and I got some new Wolverine material in the lead up to the Logan trailer.

InStockTrades.com has a Wishlist feature that I sometimes use, but I often ignore my list and just look for whatever I'm feeling at the moment, lol.

Yeah I have some stuff on IST and Amazon wish lists. I have 100+ issues in my MU library to read and they're mostly #1s so I can keep track os which runs I want to fully read. So many comics.

Need to make sure I don't buy trades from my LCS anymore. My wallet is still suffering from the last trip.

    Keep on the sunny side.

Went to B&N today hoping Paper Girls 2 would be out a day early, no such luck. I did pickup Daytripper on a whim because I liked the art/concept and it had good reviews on Goodreads. Anyone read that one?

Just finished up editing the Brett Booth episode of my podcast. It'll be out tomorrow. Since he was on the phone, audio quality isn't the greatest on his end, but it should be listenable.

I'm in the midst of some long-overdue comic book organization. All my un-sorted issues besides my to-read new issues pile are organized, and I'm bagging, boarding, and storing 'em all now. Some of these are miscellaneous cheap back-issues I've been sitting on for over a year 'cause they didn't seem worth the effort, lol. It'll feel so good to have EVERYTHING I own properly bagged, boarded, and sorted for the first time since I got fully into buying floppies. Hopefully then I'll be able to get a decent running catalogue of what I own and consistently keep up with everything, even when I get a lot at my shop's biannual "Basement Sale."
