the vocals on "zombies" already bother me and then that autotuned part in the second verse happens and it just feels so unnecessary to me

 

california is great and so much fun

cant imagine it working nearly the same with different vocals

 

I like this album the more I listen to it.

 

Really wish i hadnt brough up Kanye now.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

I do rate this album though.

 

3rd spin and enjoying it while working.

I'll give it another go later without distractions.

 

I really enjoy this album. I'm not bothered at all by the vocals; I find them very entertaining. Its not at all I was anticipating, but the surprise is welcomed.

Donald Glover’s New Understatement

 

I doubt I'll revisit this but this album isn't bad. Just not sure it's good either haha.

 

Boogieman and Zombie back to back in the beginning of the album make it seem like a Halloween-themed album

 

i listened to it while driving and i liked every song a lot more lol

 

I mean the themes are much deeper than "Halloween"

Gathering my thoughts for review. "Baby Boy" is pretty easily the best track here barring the opener

 

Just want to throw out something I thought was kind of cool

"The Night Me & Your Mama Met" is quite obviously pulling from the intro of Maggot Brain by Funkadelic (one of the best, if not the best, guitar solos ever) and it's famous for George Clinton telling Eddie Hazel to imagine he had just been told his mother died before he played. So I think it is interesting that on this album Donald Glover changes the context with the title of the song and makes it sound like the beginning of a mother rather than an end.

 

It's a really good driving album

This steadily grows on me every time I listen to it and I already liked it on first listen

 

Good take on the album.
