It's an unpopular opinion.

I think this is much more valid criticism...but like I don't see how people that aren't comfortable with stage diving are neccessarily people who actually marginalized in society. If a band was like 'don't mosh' or w/e I'd be down - it's just so rooted in hardcore

Nothing really haha - I knew it was going to be a shit storm, but I'm not trolling. Like Youth Crew type bands that have a good rhythm to portions of their songs are MADE for stagediving. But tbh I really don't like arguing on the internet. Why I usually stick to general

I mean... if you don't agree that young women (just one of the groups I'm talking about) are already heavily marginalized in society in general... not sure what to say about that. Young women already feel uncomfortable and excluded as it is within punk circles, and in my opinion and from just personal experience with many of my friends, stage diving and the conversation around it is pretty unwelcoming for these groups. It comes off like a "oh you don't like getting hit in the head?? well it's the CULTURE of the scene, go home you wimpy girl" thing to me.

 

The good thing about this thread is it exposes who the gross hardcore music bros are.

 

The passive aggressiveness is real here.
