Has anyone had any luck with fishing? I just spent like 10 min with it, and nothing. I don't know if I'm moving the lure too much or not enough.

You gotta use different lures for different fish, most spots have signs saying what's biting

Additionally most fishing spots will have the a lure or two for the right fish for the area hanging around as loot nearby.

On to chapter 2. Interesting story beat for a second, only to return to doing seemingly mundane tasks.

Just started chapter 5, question roughly how long is it till I get the Regalia back? Not being able to fast travel is a huge pain. No spoilers please

I have the fury of my own momentum.

I've had the entire week off university so I've been playing this pretty much all day every day since it was released. Just finished up the main story with around 34 hours playtime. Had a pretty good time all round, definitely enjoyed the 2nd half far less than the 1st (chapter 13, BLEH). Found the overall story far too unfocused and underdeveloped but the 4 main characters were interesting enough to carry me along.

Seems to be a fair bit of end game content as well, which is nice.

If the back half is worse than the first... yikes

So, I wasn't paying attention, but (post Altissia spoilers) how did Ignis get blind? I missed that part

Yeah, I was hoping the back half would be where the game really gets good.

The second half is extremely linear, which I'd hoped would be a nice change of pace after the large amount of dull side quests. Sadly, it mostly involves running down corridors after chapter 9. The story definitely gets more focused after shedding the open world and I think some will find it more enjoyable than I did, but I didn't find any of it particularly engaging which was disappointing.

I don't think it's ever implicitly stated exactly how he was blinded during the Leviathan fight, just that he was hurt in the battle.

This is kind of what I was hoping for, I'm just hoping the story works for me more than it seemed to for you, ha.

I started watching the FF15 anime episodes and it gave me a new love for Prompto. He is my spirit animal and goals.

I relate to Prompto so much. The four main characters in this game are wonderful.

so just hit the credits. While not a perfect game (chapter 13 is the single worst level of a video game I think I have ever played) I am still in love with it. The heart and soul of this game is built around those 4 friends, and it succeeds so well in getting you invested in their friendship.

For everyone who's beaten this, make sure to go online and check out how to access the hidden parkour / puzzle dungeon. It's completely different to anything else the game offers and worth a look.

    Regular

In chapter 6 or 7 now and enjoying it more than I expected but this seems like the least polished Square game I've ever played. Noticable glitches, occasional janky animations, camera issues, chuggy framerate sometimes, etc. Maybe these are fixed in the pro version or a later patch, and it's not much worse (if worse at all) than what you typically find in open world games these days, but yeah, surprised to see it from a studio that released games with almost nintendo-level quality control in the past.

That dungeon is fantastic. It's a little frustrating because the controls are a bit finicky and clearly not made for a platformer but there are a ton of really neat ideas, I had a blast going through it last night.

Just had a marathon session of beating the Adamantoise. That took...quite a while.

That dungeon is probably the most fun I've had with FFXV in terms of gameplay. I really wish they had tightened up some of those ideas and put them into the games second half, would have made those linear levels a lot more interesting.

Love the fishing, really fun mini game. I'm about 8 hours in. Still very pleased with the game. My only gripe is the battle system. Maybe I'm not getting it, but I feel like I'm just button mashing on B most of the time. And I hate that I can't see the HP bar of enemies very well. I think I need to get more time in with it, but it could have been done better I think
