Couldn't give two shits if Cope is just palm mutes and power chords. People have been saying that since the day it was released. It's a good album. It's just too bad the conversation never seems to change

I think it's a pretty valid, and one of the strongest, criticism that every song follows the exact same structure with little to no deviation. It's an album that I put on and then tune out because it blends together if you're not paying attention because it's not very dynamic.

I wish they'd release Sinful Math or whatever it was called. Wanna hear recorded version of Rejoice

I get the argument that Cope kind of blends together. Still a great album.

Any talk of when LP5 is happening? Or will they take after their friends in Brand New and toy with us for the next decade?

He made it sound like it'd definitely be out next year when he talked about it at The Stuffing.

Idk what cope lacks in structural changes it makes up for it in harmonic variety

I would guess Spring time. I believe it's already recorded. Andy mentioned early 2017 for LP5 and 2018 for Bad Books 3. Andy Hull is the anti-Brand New. Puts out loads of material.

According to Billboard.com, Montage is one of 91 songs eligible for an Oscar.

Two more long road trips later, I have to revise my opinion...

METN > Simple Math > Hope > Cope > Virgin

I keep coming back to Simple Math more than any of their others. Love how "huge" the songs feel with the orchestras and choirs. Only real knock on it is that the final three songs leave something to be desired... Three softer/slower songs that kill the energy from the rest of the album. Still great individual songs, I just feel like there needs to another faster song before the end.

OOF, Leave it Alone is one of my all-time favorite Manchester songs. I also think Apprehension is one of the strongest on that album. I don't really care for Leaky Breaks.

I love Leave it Alone and Apprehension too. Their positioning in the album, especially followed by Leaky Breaks, really just kills the great energy that the first seven songs created. I would love everything about Simple Math if it had a huge closer like The River to follow those two songs.

A while back Andy said they had either of bunch of extra songs or demos that weren't used on Simple Math. He called them Sinful Math and half hearted posted how he should release them.

    I wish he would.
