Witcher 3 is still so good. I'll be jumping right back into it after FFXV to finish up Blood & Wine.

 

I need to llay the DLC, but I did not like my ending so I don't want to get back to the world lol

 

I wish Witcher 3 were getting a Pro patch. I haven't played it yet, or bought it, but I've been close many many times.

 

Neverwinter Nights diamond edition is free on gog.

It definitely has repetition issues. I feel that's its main problem. After the seventh or eights post-main quest Minutemen mission where Preston just keeps giving you them it sets in how lacking the post game content really is. Another obviously is the bugs. Game has been out for a year.There are still some settlement glitches I've come across,and the texture pop in still persists etc. I do also feel that the Commenwealth isn't as interesting as the Capital Wasteland. That might be why I prefer 3 more.


Though it does a myriad of things well. The inclusion of weapon modding is my favorite part of the game. Once you unlock Gun Nut 2, and Science 3 you can make awesome combinations. The settlement building is shallow compared to minecraft obviously, but it works. I love my sanctuary custom settlement. Everyone always says how 3's combat was terrible outside of VATS. They did a fantastic job fixing that complaint on 4. It's fluid, and does a great job "feeling" like a decent shooter. They compromised a lot of the RPG elects of the past games, but I honestly think it worked in the games favor.

Anyway I'm playing through Far Harbor dlc right now, and love the characters/quests in it.

 

finished watch dogs 2's story. kinda eh, but many of the story missions themselves are incredibly memorable and very fun and well thought out. i actually like the dialogue between characters more than the story itself, similarly to wd1. gameplay is a lot better. open world is much more fun to explore. and actually, you can fast travel to restaurants and shops across the map, as well as the Hackerspaces, so you don't have to drive as much. i think this is one of the best open world games i've played. it fixed a lot of what was wrong with wd1.

and the collectibles actually matter and are rewarding - they're clothing items, money, skill points, and specific skill access. not just random items for the sake of collecting like in many open world games. oh and no 'radio towers' or areas that need to be cleared a la outposts. the side missions make sense within the story/universe, and are really fun to do. and there's a lot of narration in them as well.

so yeah this is the best game i've played this year by far. overwatch is another. i'm sure FFXV will be on there once i get it too.

i encourage people who don't usually like open worlds to try this because of the many ways to immediately fast travel, and because it doesn't feel anywhere near as overwhelming as it usually does. and there's so many random NPC interactions and reactions. as you progress through the story you hear people around you comment on what's going on. literally the other day, i saw a fancy car parked and i was like, "hmm i want that!". so i'm gonna walk up to it. but all of a sudden a guy with a baseball bat is targeting that specific car hahaha. he's like "I HOPE YOU HAVE INSURANCE!" "CHEATING FUCK!" and i'm like, OK. walking away now. and all the random chat conversations and phone conversations you can listen in. and you get rewarded by exploring and driving around because you'll be finding a lot of side missions that way.

so yeah :D
