– The Wrestling Observer (via WrestlingInc.com) is reporting that the upcoming WWE Elimination Chamber PPV event will be a RAW-only event. The PPV is scheduled for February 12, 2017 and will be held at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. Meanwhile, Fastlane 2017 will be a Smackdown event, which will be held on March 5 at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Safe to assume a Smackdown superstar wins the Rumble?

Wonder if the winner will be able to challenge either Champion, like they have in the past, or if they're restricted to their specific brand's championship.

 

So I guess the rumor about cutting back on PPV's is true.

 

That does point towards a Smackdown wrestler winning the rumble. My guess is still Cena or Taker then.

 

Says there will be 18 PPVs in 2017.

18 is probably still too many, but WWE were on pace for like 20-22 this year if they kept up the brand split pacing.

If they were smart, MITB would be co-branded as well, theyd make the Big 5, and have a PPV per brand between each of them. That'd give them 15 PPVs total, with the option to add one between Summerslam and SS as needed.

 

Rumor has it that they keep bouncing the HHH/Rollins match around. Looks like it was planned for Mania, then pushed to the Rumble and now likely back to Mania. Guess we can expect Seth to not have any title runs.

 

The sooner the better for Seth/Aich it's about damn time they finally address everything that went down with them lol.

 

Football season is the biggest reason for holding off

 

Plus selfishly I'd love to see that maybe lead to Seth breaking out a new finisher.

This stuff always bugs me cus WWE always is so irked about how certain seasons and times of year mess with the eyeballs, and I get that from the sheer exposure angle. But I would think part of the reason some people are lost on wrestling now is they are so concerned with silly shit like "Fuck making sense and not wasting time thus killing hype, we need these ratings."

I'm not gunna claim to know more than the minds behind WWE or even try and use that as a way to promote Wrestler X v. Wrestler Y. I just think the mindstate is silly.

Iunno I guess what I'm saying is I would think just going with things when it's hot and makes the most sense would eventually help build enough credit (if done right) again with the audience you shouldn't have to sweat things like that. Wrestling may not be hot right now, but look at all the silly shit it worries about now. Short term booking vs. Long term success what do I know lol.

 

I think the "HHH doesn't want to show up during football season" narrative is total bullshit, personaly

I can't believe that the undertaker is voice acting for a kids movie. And Paige being in this is hilarious

the whole Paige thing is super unfortunate and disappointing since she's a real talent and should be right here with the Sasha, Charlotte, Becky, Bayley, Asuka, Naomi, Alexa, etc's of now.

I haven't kept up with tna in months. Are Cody and Aron/Damien still there? And are the broken hardys still going strong?

 

Cody is wrestling for RoH during Final Battle tomorrow night. I think he's just taking any and all dates all over, trying a bit of everything.

 

Triple H having that one random appearance on Raw and then vanishing is still weird to me.
