Please be kind. Like actually kind though.

Despite all the hate and some obvious flaws but I really think the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series should hold the World's Best Title.

I really liked 3 and New Vegas, but 4 was just so bland and mediocre.

I loved 4, but it was far from perfect. The game had basically one town that you didn't build and they trashed the dialog system. The other improvements, however, are very strong for me.

I liked Oblivion a fair amount but haven't been able to get through more than a few hours of Fallout 3/4 or Skyrim. They just bore me.

    Fallout New Vegas > Fallout 3 > Skyrim > Oblivion > Fallout 4

New Vegas is, in my opinion, far better than 3 or 4. Obsidian are just much better at telling stories than Bethesda

Imagine how good New Vegas could have been if Bethesda have Obsidian more time to develop the game. I think they made that game if 17 months if I remember correctly, so imagine what 30 months would have ended up as.

Definitly. NV is already one of my favorite games. I wish they would get to make another one, but apparently their relationship to Bethesda isn't great.

I think 1 more point on metacritic would have netted them a multi-million dollar payout lol. That's where the relationship strain stems from.

Everything outside of the story in skyrim is phenomenal. Well, that and the cities. Once you play the witcher 3 the main cities in skyrim are fucking child's play

Skyrim's cities are more simulated than The Witcher's. They are in some ways more impressive, though it is harder to grasp. I do know what you mean though.

What cities in skyrim are impressive? They're all extremely small and most of the major holds can barely be considered cities. There are towns bigger than Dawnstar

Right, but the NPCs have a life and the cities have a certian "logic" (the whole world does). It's like the city in Majora's Mask. As far as I know, The Witcher's cities are just full of NPCs that do not really do anything. It's all just window dressing. Like I said though, that's not really something most notice, which is why I said that Skyrim's cities are only more impressive in certain ways but not as a whole.

That's what I heard (an partly observed) at least, maybe I'm wrong.

Novigrad is by far the most vibrant city I've ever seen in a video game. There are dozens upon dozens of side quests to do not to mention the main quest line that takes you throughout the city. Each part of the city has a purpose, something new to check out and get involved in even if it's just a gwent game (though it's often far more than that). There's a sense of rewarding exploration even in the city, in skyrim you can discover everything a city has to offer in fifteen minutes. That's not what I would call an immersive city experience. Even if you were to combine every hold in skyrim into one city it would pale in comparison to Novigrad

Even the other big city in that area (forgot what its called I haven't played witcher since march) is a lot bigger and more immersive than any skyrim city. Like solitude is supposed to be the capital of all of skyrim and it's like two roads and a keep. This one youtuber I've been watching said there's only 60 unique NPCs in solitude, compared to the 300+ unique NPCs in the capital of morrowind

Even if it is just window dressing in the witcher (which is not entirely true) it offers a much more immersive world building experience than any city skyrim has to offer

Right, but a small simulation is still in some ways harder to pull of than a big puppet show. I'm not talking about what's more immersive. I have been very clear from the start.

But my point is that it's not just a big puppet show in the witcher. Maybe certain areas and NPCs but there's still a simulation going on with a lot of it as well

Overall I think skyrim and witcher are about equal in terms of how much I like them anyway. That's just my biggest gripe with skyrim (outside of story) that I think witcher gets right. And w3's story is astronomically better. Where witcher 3 falters is that it's scope can be massively overwhelming, to the point where once I did the main quest I was burnt out and didn't feel like doing side quests. Doesn't happen in skyrim at all because the main quest doesn't take like thirty hours haha

Made the plunge and got Final Fantasy XV, should be here tomorrow. Least if I don't like it I didn't pay all that much for it but hope I do. Now to finish off Dishonored 2 before it arrives.

My secret shame is that The Witcher 3 is my favorite game of the past few years, easily, and I barely played Blood and Wine. I know I'm going to LOVE it but for some reason it just keeps slipping my mind/other games get in the way. I bet it'd be my GOTY too (it's long enough to be its own game I'm sure if the last DLC is any indication).
