Yeah that was a great set list. I wish Mark and Tom did more acoustic songs as part of the set. Maybe Mark and Matt will throw in 2 or 3 for the next tour cycle.

 

i watched that on reddit this morning. not feeling this.

 

People would crucify Tom if he wore sunglasses inside.

 

It's certainly better than they used to sound doing "Bored To Death" acoustic, that's for sure. There's some weird timing issues on the choruses, though. Good song, just not a great acoustic song.

 

Been jamming to Dogs Eating Dogs and wishing Tom was still in the band because I think the album would've been reminiscent of that EP.

I remember in 2014 when Tom said something like:
"yes an album is coming! #TouchUrMother #cacapoopoo"

On FB and Twitter.

 

Like I understand missing Tom, but there just isn't a functioning version of blink that exists right now if Tom was in the band. AVA is his passion project and he doesn't even want to tour THAT band. All this guy does is tease stuff. Have anybody's words (outside of politicians) ever meant less? Ugh haha.

 

Isn't he presently teasing that he is going to release an acoustic version of WDNTW? Wasn't that like 6 months ago?

 

Anyone wonder who else they considered to use to replace Tom?

Or maybe Matt was their first and only pick.

William from Fenix Tx is the only other person I can think of who might have worked.

Can you guys think of any one else?

This is nothing against Matt. He is great.

 

I think Mike from MXPX was considered. I think he said that when Travis was on his podcast a little while ago.

I love having Matt in the band. hoping for less whoa's and na na's next time around haha. I like those in songs, but it was a bit overwhelming on this album. but yeah he fit in well, his vocals killed it.

the only other person I personally have thought I'd enjoy as a replacement is Justin of MCS. the higher range, the fun energy, they're all friends. but yeah I'm happy with Matt (and yes I still like Tom).

 

Never thought of Justin. Man I'm bad at this but yeah his higher voice would sound good.

 

Yup this exactly. I miss the old Tom but I don't understand the people that wish Tom of 2016 was still in the band. We wouldn't have gotten any new music or even another greatest hits tour.

 

Anyone have info on what skiba posted on Instagram today? Could we get new music for Christmas? I'm dreaming probably haha

 

Looks like it's just a holiday poster that they'll probably sell in their web store around Christmas. But obviously, it'd be cooler if it's a pre-order item for the deluxe version of California.

Popular replacement ideas were:

Justin from MCS
Mike from MxPx
Jim from JEW

I think even Davey from AFI.

Gerard Way/MCR.

I still think Matt was the best choice. There could have been interesting choices in the likes of Brendon Urie/PATD..but I think it would have been really weird if they casted someone so much younger than themselves.

Jeez that acoustic vid is pretty rough stuff in a few places.

 

There's no way to say this without it sounding like a dig at Mark, but Brendon is way too good a vocalist to join Blink-182.

 

Hearing about those replacement ideas, I think we got the best choice with Matt. None of the others feel right to me.

 

I love Mark but how bad would Brendon make him sound live? I mean Matt makes him stick out a lot more at times now. No, they made as great a choice as they could I think.
