90 minutes left for my patch. thankfully i took today and tomorrow off to play, so i'm patient. (thank god for working overtime all the time and building up a lot of lieu days). Once this gets installed, im not leaving my house for the next 40 hours.

 

One of the characters makes constant awful dad jokes and I have declared that he is @ChaseTx

 

Only a few hours in and already I'm distracted by side content/hunts and have barely progressed in the story.

 

this might be a dumb question, but can you install the game while simultaneously downloading the patch?

 

When I've referred to the patch I'm referring to the game and the patch as one in the same.

Unless you're talking about a digital install? In which case someone else will have to let you know haha, but I believe it'll all download together.

 

Physical installs are super quick, it's not going to take more than 10 seconds or something in my experience, and it'll download the patch when you pop the disk in.

If you bought it digitally, the download version is everything up to date at the time of the download - you'd have the latest patch, and the game installs right away when it's done downloading.

 

Thanks. I preordered the physical copy and will be picking it up on lunch. Since it seems like the patch takes a long time to download I'll run home and get that going so it's done for tonight. I couldn't remember how long it takes to install using a disk and wasn't sure if you could download the patch at the same time.

 

Good lord how big is the patch?

Whole thing including the patch is 52.

 

Going to pick it up over my lunch break. Gonna force myself to be productive while it installs then watch Kingsglaive. Seriously itching right now. So, so, so excited.

 

That SUCKS!!!! Maybe I won't be playing tonight. Stupid 430am wake up for work.

 

I'm going to be so sad if the patch takes up most of my night of playing

 

Just realized my copy will be coming by UPS, not the rest of my mail. So probably won't get it till 5 anyway. Probably won't get to play tonight. Sadness.

 

The patch will probably be a much shorter download for y'all, considering mine was downloaded at the time when all people were receiving SE preorders+people beginning their midnight release downloads as well.

The servers will probably be much more relaxed haha.

 

I wanna play this so bad. I hate that my shipment for my new Xbox and this game STILL isn't here. I hate FedEx with a burning passion.

I did, haven't figured out how to equip the paint to the car yet but there's more weapons plus clothes with different stats on them for Noctis

Plus different camera/fishing gear/recipes etc

 

the 16 bit decal is awesome
