I just got home to Utah from my adventure down under. So now I'll be able to get my tookus back into gear with these. And I can finally listen to the Hotelier comp! Ha

 

Listening through the Hotelier one rn. So good so far, good job guys. Might have to contribute to one of these sometime. I need a decent mic though.

 

Honestly curious, why wasn't EOTY a poll choice? That'd split the difference I'd imagine.

 

"Best of 2016" will be the one after this next one.

 

hmm... so FOB and the Winter mixtape are tied... Would anyone be opposed to the idea of doing both compilations? FOB could be due in 2-3 weeks, and then Winter songs about 2 weeks after that, right before the holidays, and people can do one or the other, or both if they want. What do you think?

I don't associate specific styles of music with specific seasons/times of the year, so doing seasonal compilations is hard for me.

 

yeah i can't foresee myself doing these until the way they are organized is more inclusive regarding the participants and their voices

 

That's disheartening. I think brad is a people pleaser. When people voice their opinion, he listens and tries to appease the majority that is having the conversation... then gives us a poll.

We had a good rotation... talked about switching it up in October and planned to do band and eoty then start the rotation in January. People brought up winter or anti-Trump and as fervor grew, Brad listened. Pushed back eoty and put those 2 on a poll with FOB.

I hope you still participate but, Brad is doing a good job both with the organization and making this about the community. Sorry you feel that way.

 

It's unfortunate that you feel that way. I think we're (and by we're I mean mostly Brad since he does the majority of the work) always looking to have more people involved. What do you think would be some necessary changes in order for these to be more inclusive?
