I wonder how this carries over to the main story. Gonna be a huge bummer if Reigns wins at Roadblock.

Heading into the Royal Rumble, the original plan was to have Kevin Owens feud with Roman Reigns at the event, however we are now getting that feud one month early.

WWE has already kicked off this feud by having these two compete at WWE Live Events. What’s interesting about those matches is that the company has Kevin Owens challenging Roman Reigns for the United States Championship in the main event. It’s also worth noting that Reigns actually defeats the Universal Champion at these events, which is very interesting for the company to book their top champion of the RAW brand to lose to the second-rate champion on those shows.

Eh. They also booked Owens in triple-threat matches with Sami/Seth after he won the title. That didnt carry over to the taped shows. Honestly, I think its to change up matchups for live shows. Sami/Rusev instead of Reigns/Rusev. Jericho/Rollins instead of KO/Reigns.

Even if it carries over to Roadblock, Id much rather see Reigns/KO be for the US title than the Universal title.

Reigns winning the title would make them lose like a billion viewers

Yeah, that stuff is house shows 101. Owens is eating the pin because they have the rare out of being able to make those matches for the US title. If Roman weren't the US champ and they billed it as a Universal title match, Owens would just be getting himself DQ'd every night and getting hit with a finisher or two anyways.

I think a money in is a KO v Jericho thing eventually. That said I hate to say it cus I'm a huge KO fan and while I don't hate Reigns I'm not his biggest fan - I doubt WWE would lost many (if any) viewers if Roman ended up winning the title. I'd be annoyed too like many others but I lived through the Cena years... I seen too much now lmao.

I just don't see the logic in the champion vs champion match. It seems like this one will be a non-title match that Reigns wins to have the main event for the RR as Roman vs Owens for the Universal Title. It makes zero sense have Reigns go two PPV's without defending his US title against someone who could actually do something with it.

For what its worth... WWE hasn't been shy making secondary titles a afterthought at PPVs before.

Not a fan of the idea but WWE gon WWE, or rather, Vince gon Vince.

So like there will be a pointless beef match instead of a title match for both? Cool...

So what is going on with TNA? I haven't heard anything regarding that situations since the whole their partner (I heard the name before just forgot) bailing them out and funding them in lieu of the whole Billy Corgan debacle.

Not saying anything that hasnt been said before but it's a shame how TNA has gone, I remember finding it in 2006 on youtube and being blown away by the X Division like so many others.

Also speaking of TNA, I remember seeing a Solomonster Sounds Off clip awhile back speaking of a survey WWE sent out asking ppl how they'd feel about them maybe streaming other companies on their network (TNA, ROH, Evolve, NJPW, among others) was there ever any deeper interest on WWE's part?

The are funded for a while, but don't have the money to do Total Nonstop Deletion as of right now. Once the New Year hits, they are only going to be filming 3-4 times a year. They will film for an entire week or so and likely have PPV's at the end of those airings.

It's a terrible way to go about doing it. At least with Lucha, they were only filming on the weekends and whatnot.

Excuse my slight confusion. They're basically gunna do 3-4 weeks of filming to try and air a years worth of shows (Granted I'm sure those weeks would be spread throughout the year)? That doesn't sound realistic if they intend to do weekly shows?

LU is somewhat of an unfair comparison to cus of the offseason (which I think is a great idea - I'm so mad at myself for life taking me away from LU I'm disgustingly far behind). Random related question: Is El Rey in more homes than Pop (still there right? fucking TNA lol)?

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

Isn't Ambrose the longest ever reigning United States champ (back in The Shield days) simply because they never ever had him defend the title?

Also, we just had title vs title - and these exact titles! - with Seth and Cena a year or so ago. No reason to do it again. Please have Strauman demolish Reigns for the US belt or something. Or like was mentioned days ago - have Jericho win it. Make the KO and Jericho segments that much better as they gloat about their titles.

They'll likely film every three or four months, depending on what the scheduling/funding will allow. If you break that down, they'll film roughly 16 shows in one shot. This is somewhat unrealistic because it would mean filming for eight days straight, which seems to be what the plan was. I suppose they could do it over a two week period, but it makes it difficult with wrestlers other commitments. No matter how they try to make it work, it seems like it is going to be a mess. #businessasusual

I'm not sure what the numbers are for either network. I know that my families cable provider doesn't carry El Rey.

This Strowman stuff is so confusing to me. He needs a mouth and a belt already.

Not just for wrestlers with other commitments but just sheer overexertion over that span. Seems like a lot of work in a short period of time they intend to stretch in a clear cost/profit mindstate. More "Companies not really caring about the workers" content it seems. I don't want TNA to go anywhere but they seem to love to make a bunch of headass decisions that seem pretty ridiculous to everyone but them. It's really crazy considering how good at talking her way afloat Dixie is even though when it's not life or death they seem so great at making themselves return there lmao.

I don't believe my provider gets either, I usually watch on a site like watchwrestling or something now lol.

I really think eventually Braun vs Brock happens and Heyman leaves Brock to join Braun. Would be a lot like when Heyman turned on Brock and joined Big Show, but could be much better then however that turned out.

Braun seems to have at least some personality for a big beaty uppy guy lol. I don't think it's time to make him too much of that yet cus we know what that means when WWE has big men show too much personality lol. But I do think he's getting better over time and I would love Heyman with Braun.

Between Big Cass and Braun Vince gotta be in his office daily with that Stacy Keibler gif eyes lol.

I guess we'll see how it goes for the first set of tapings. I know those are already planned and funded. Gonna be an interesting few months for that company.

The huge problem with taping so far in advance is if their story lines go bust, people know and tune out. Like, if I knew right now that Roman won both titles at Roadblock, Id stop watching RAW until after the PPV.

So their creative team has a lot to deal with

  20. sleepy

    pale earnhardt jr.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing that taping like that gives them no leeway to alter courses and go with what's hot or who's getting over vs. "WELL fuck it, that's what we got taped." But then again if they're filming it in spurts your live crowd will always be the same based off that recent timing. The Online/TV fan reaction is key too but I'm kinda confused as to how they know who is really over truly if they're not running shows regularly and I mean... is Merch really a good measure for them considering how much Merch do they really sell over all anyway?

    Seems clusterf@$ky to me lol.

They are definitely in a weird place. You can't have it so nothing happens, but at the same time, you don't want to give it all away.

Lucha is a funny thing. I'll read the spoilers, because I know everything leading up to those events will be batshit crazy. All of the stuff with Sexy and Johnny was built in such a strong way that it was great. Those vignettes were all wonderful. Really looking forward to seeing how Puma is used going forward.

  22. Jericho winning the US title tonight would be a pretty awesome bday present for me. Make it happen wrestling gods.

They've got the womens title and tag team titles being defended already tonight...id be surprised if the US title was as well.
