newegg.com has some crazy bundle deals for the Pro and VR set with like 6 games and what not. The more basic deal they have listed is the Pro for $399 (reg price) with a free game and headset.

Snagged XCom 2 with that sale, plus the 10% off code. Don't know when I'll find time to play it considering I'm still playing Fallout 4 DLC/Rise of the Tomb Raider. Then FF15 comes out Tuesday. Oh boy.

If you want to be depressed for a little while, play through Tony Hawk's Underground in 1080p on Dolphin, shortly before playing THPS5.

Finally made it to plat on R6:Siege, took me damn long enough but I know I'll probably lose it next game anyways.

Disappointed to hear about Dead Rising 4 though and all the changes they've made to it, was cautiously optimistic but don't think I want it now unfortunately.

What have you heard that put you off? From the gameplay I've watched, I think it looks pretty fun.

I know some of the features they've changed (mentioned in the vid above) are what might appeal to casual gamers, but I think fans will be disappointed.

I'm a huge fan of the first game, it's one of my top 5 games of all time. I don't mind that they've removed the timer, it means I'll actually be able to do everything I want to do and I won't have to rush through. It sucks that Zombies won't be more aggressive at night but I guess you can always just crank the difficulty up.

The video you posted seems to imply that "total freedom" and "ordinary objects" aren't features of Dead Rising 4. If anything, I'd say you seemingly have more freedom in Dead Rising 4 because there won't be any time constraints. As much as I love the original, you could never really explore the mall properly because you were too busy rushing to the next objective. Also, from the gameplay I've watched, you can still use pretty much anything you see as a weapon, so "ordinary objects" are still very much a thing in this game.

The only thing I'm unhappy with is that they changed the voice actor for Frank, I don't understand why they did that, but oh well. Anyway, I'm going to be waiting awhile to play the game, as I only have a PS4.

I think what's really bothered me about this is how you could do some of the new changes in older games. For instance, there was a sandbox mode in DR2:OTR so you could play without time limits, whilst still having the timer on the main game. Two player co-op was available back in DR2 as well so I have no idea why that was taken away at all, the 4 player multiplayer mode was already tried and tested in DR2 and I remember I couldn't even find a games a few weeks after the release, it was so unmemorable, so why they decided to bring it back in for DR4 is beyond me.

I loved the weapon crafting in DR2 but DR3 was sorta odd because I think it went a bit too OTT with it, DR4 looks like they've up'd the ante even more so I'm not sure I'll enjoy it. They implemented a health system as well which is weird, I mean I always loved that you could die at any time if you didn't find food or drink to replenish it, so now finding food/drink sorta diminishes the value of it.

No juices though which was a staple in DR1 and DR2, that's lame.

Tbh I never finished DR2 and I never played any of DR3. The original is the only one I've played all the way through, and as I said, it's one of my favourite games ever. I guess I'm just excited to have Frank back in the driving seat, even if it is with a new voice actor. Some of the weapons do look pretty crazy, but I guess you still have the choice of which weapons you use. I always tended to stick with the more "serious" weapons in the original like machetes, sledge hammers and guns, instead of hitting zombies with golf balls or riding the skateboard into them lol. I'll probably do the same with DR4.

I would've prefered them to leave the health system as it was as well but again it doesn't bother me too much. For me it appears like the heart of the game is still there (I know some will disagree), so I still have hope that it'll be good.

I can't say I'm excited for the new Dead Rising. I wasn't a fan of 3 and yeah I miss the timer, it addedore strategy for me.

DR2 was tons of fun, I'm the opposite of you though I finished DR2 but never DR1 for some reason, I think i got into the OT but always died to the military coming in. I could tell DR1 would've been more fun with co-op though, which is why I'm struggling to figure out why they couldn't include it, probably time/budget constraints but who knows? DR3 was a mixed bag for me, DR4 looks like DR3 with a coat of paint from DR1. I might just ask it for Christmas and go in with low expectations because I do love Frank West and wish DR2 had a more charismatic protagonist and that's what Frank is.

EDIT: Also, fuck having a season pass for this game

I hated DR2, it just felt like a bad rehash of the original with poorer characters/story. I disagree that DR1 would've been more fun with co-op, it's great as it is! I'm not into multiplayer at all, so I don't really care about all that. I agree that Frank is the best protagonist of the series, they should just stick with him for every game.
