i thought this was chorus.FM?? Prestigious

biffy clyro fans are somehow even more insufferable than brand new fans lmfao

yeah, played 7(/8) songs (4 tdag, 2(/3) from deja and 1 from daisy), didn't really say anything other than "we're brand new from new york".

only had three tees and one sweater at the merch table. all old designs.

probably the best i've seen them live, though. jesse seemed into it even if the crowd didn't.

How long did they play for 45 minutes?

around 40 minutes, yeah. went on at 19:35 and were finished by about 20:15 or so.

40 mins exactly. jesse was super into Sowing Season. Was way more into it than the last time they played here. He seemed happy.

Cheers guys. Was hoping for around an hour but hey. Brand New's in the U.K. That's the important thing haha

Gutted about the Brand New set, but that Biffy set sure is interesting for me. Excited either way!

27 songs is decent... but they can't let brand new play a couple more/TDAG...?

With most of Ellipsis and 2 pre-puzzle rarities! Could always change for the other gigs, depending on when the curfew is... trying to stay optimistic!

I mean... They're an opening act. This tour was announced before they started doing TDAG and they're not even listed on the tickets from what I've seen. It'd be disrespectful to use their supporting time as a full album show. They can't upstage the host of the show. If Front Bottoms or MoBo performed a full album before Brand New I'd be pissed.

I'm not necessarily expecting a full album show, it's just that this is Brand New's first supporting slot since like 2002 (?) so you'd expect there to have been something to the deal that would've tempted them to do it.

True. the whole thing is odd. it makes me think it was a way to test the water to decide if a final U.K. Headline tour would do well.

They played support for Dashboard Confessional in 2006, didn't they?

I have no idea, I just remember the last tour someone mentioned them supporting on was Finch in '02. Might've been the last UK support show, either way it's long enough that it'd need to be special for them. They're not a small band here- they played an 10,500 cap arena last year, so it isn't even like they're making a huge jump between venue sizes either.

Right, I was thinking of a US tour. I think they're a bigger deal over there.

I'd argue them having selling out tickets for their previous tours would probably be the best indicator. They're enormous here and constantly refer to the UK as a second home and where their career really kicked off. (At least that's what Jesse claims during gigs but you know...probably just saying that to make me go WOOOO) There's no way they'd skip doing a final UK tour. Right...? :'( I just saw this as them getting to give us additional shows that aren't as pressing on them before their final tour next year.

I'm gutted at how small that set is. Especially considering someone on Reddit who claimed to be 'in the know' made a post about us and how we should expect an hour-long set.

ANYWAY that's enough privileged whining. I get to see my favourite band again. And another band.

Said person-in-the-know also said there's a distinction between the Ireland and UK shows though- apparently Brand New going on 15 minutes earlier for a full hour set. With doors opening at 7 in Manchester on Friday, I'm still hopeful!

We will get a tour, don't you worry! I see this as their last chance to play to a big crowd in the UK before they do smaller venues again :)
