I never listen to jazz, but I listened to The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady a few weeks ago. The Jazz Man would be proud.

 

Jesus that album is amazing

 

Holy shit...

 

Kind Of Blue, A Love Supreme, Giant Steps, and Time Out are all pretty popular albums and decent places to start if you're interested in going down the rabbit hole

 

If someone's gonna only hear one jazz album, Bitches Brew is a fair choice

 

Sketches of Spain by Miles and Mingus Ah Um by Charles Mingus were my access points. Pretty accessible

Jazz isn't for everyone and it's not easy for everyone. Be nice Ben!

 

It was pretty good and while i'm not planning to dive headfirst into jazz all that much in the short-term, i'll probably check out a few other critically acclaimed ones like A Love Supreme at some point.

 

You might get a kick out of Take Five. It's an album dedicated to the exploration of odd time signatures, but they're so comfortable in odd meter that it all flows very naturally and comes across in a very accessible nature.

 

Anyone listening at all makes me very happy!

Its true. Anything is great to hear but I think he'll enjoy

 

I'll keep that in mind. I like rock music w/ odd time signatures so it's probably not a stretch that I'd like it in jazz.

Tried to listen to Eva's favorite jazz album only to find it's not on Spotify

 

Saw some love for Weather Report on the first page. I saw Peter Erskine last year who I think was the drummer for Weather Report? He was cool.
