This would be a dream come true. Been listening to them consistently since 1997/8 but never saw them live.

How would people expect this to fare in the US if it does turn out to be a tour? What size venues?Per this article below, they've kept such a low profile during the last 15 years that it's hard to envisage a new generation having picked up on them etc.

I know bands say it all the time and money talks but quite recently during their induction into the song writing hall of fame they all said they would never tour again …I’ll still hold out hope though!

 

Micheal stipe has said it at literally every turn. Literally to kill any hope anyone has. I would be shocked if they got back together

 

Read that this could be for political reasons. And actually that makes a lot of sense.

 

Yeah so it turns out everyone in the R.E.M. camp is logging off all Meta-related platforms for a whole week next week in protest. Got my hopes up too easy…
