How does this site feel about the album?

Every other space where I interact with pop-punk content it seems like most people see this as the runaway AOTY for the genre.

I enjoyed this a lot. They just have a sound that works for me.

I had Mannequin Pussy, Origami Angel, One Step Closer, Macseal and Carly Cosgrove above this in terms of pop-punky sort of stuff but this was in pretty constant rotation.

Solidly my third favourite of theirs behind WYDS & Proper Dose.

    idk man

I can think of at least three pop punk related albums that are better than this (One Step Closer, Combat, Carpool) and that's just off the top of my head

Proper dose is #1 but I still enjoyed this. Caught them in Orlando and they are what they are live but I think the crowd makes it up for it. I’ll always try to catch them live because I feel like they are one of those bands who could be done at any minute.

I think it’s the best release this year if you compare it to similar sized pop punk bands from their era (Neck Deep, State Champs, Real Friends). Genre wise, Super American was the best pop punk release for me.

It’s not a bad album, but I’d rank FYS and Real Friends over this

This was mediocre. Gami, super American, combat are all easy choices over this. Hell, even greyscale who’s slow roll of a release is better

Album grew on me, I like it. Not as good as Proper Dose but I probably like it more than mostly everything I’d consider in this genre aside from FYS

  14. I thought this was great. Big Blind ended up being my most played track of the year on Apple Music, first time for a pop punk song in about 5 years. Saw em twice this year and they crushed it both times.

I liked this enough, but found it pretty forgettable overall and haven’t revisited it

I found myself coming back to Neck Deep's album more, not a bad release by any means though

Solid album but I agree with others that FYS, OSC, and others released better this year

Certain songs on it are great, but the album as a whole doesn't drag me back in like Proper Dose used to. I kinda had to force myself to listen to it again when my tour date was coming up.

    Things have changed.

Super American was definitely my favorite pop-punk-adjacent album this year

it's grown on me a bit as the weather has warmed up here but it's still overall pretty mid in their catalogue

Seeing this video makes me think how I always heard about Green Day and blink doing really wild shit in stage.
