It has been equally heartwarming and heartbreaking to see the outpouring of love and grief since the news dropped.

Never listened to this in full until now. The second half of this album is really fantastic, even if I wasn’t familiar with Lynch’s work I think I’d enjoy

iirc, wasn't the plan that Wisteria could've still been made but that COVID and David's health got in the way? or am i misremembering? now i do remember them rejecting his animated film Snootworld

 

Yeah, canceled during COVID. But how convenient the man dies and suddenly there was an unrealized project Netflix supposedly fully supported. I think if that were the case then it’d exist.

Lynch wanted to keep creating and he wanted to go into production. He spoke about directing remotely if given the option. Five years after the plan for Wisteria/Unrecorded Night was canceled, and nothing panned out with it in all that time—just seems like Sarandos is trying to appeal to everyone grieving, make Netflix look less at fault.

 

Also we watched Blue Velvet last night. So good. Frank Booth remains one of Lynch’s best villains. What stood out to me in this rewatch was how stupid some of Jeffrey’s decisions are throughout the movie. He immediately comes up with the batshit plan to sneak into Dorothy’s apartment, totally in over his head. Also, the shot of Dorothy appearing from the darkness on Jeffrey’s front lawn, completely nude and battered, is devastating.

 

anyone that hasn’t seen the straight story ya gotta watch it. it’s so so good.

 

Frank Booth is my favourite movie villain. Absolutely deranged and some all timer quotes.
