The singles and the new songs are better then almost everything from the debut album.

Paper Tigers is so awesome. Takes me back to the 90’s Smashing Pumpkins with the fuzz on the guitars.

 

Paper Tigers is the best of the three. Love the melodic guitar and Anthony really goes into his high range.

 

Song rules. This is shaping up to be potentially better than the debut.

Song gives me the feeling that I've heard it before in the best way. Absolutely adore everything from this album so far.

 

Paper Tigers is easily the best single they’ve released for this and has finally made me excited for Violet since Machines did nothing for me. Nice.

 

I've really liked all 3 singles released so far. Doubt I'll listen to anything else they might release between now and release.

Did not care for the first record much at all, but all of these singles have been pretty good

 

My exact thoughts also. The title track is fantastic.

 

this is def going to better than the debut...which prob had an EP worth of fleshed out songs.

with that said, still think Permanent Rebellion and Gray Veins are my fav tracks from them

 

There's a slight blandness to me with most Dunes stuff, but I think I'm onboard with this LP looking like a step up from the debut.

So far feels like they're leaning a bit into the layered/shoegaze side of the debut and away from the punk side. I approve.

I'm trying not to listen to the new songs until the new album comes out but i'm digging the reactions so far.

 

L.S. Dunes – Violet: First Reaction

 

This gets me so pumped. The bass tones on Past Lives are so rad, so I was glad to see the author call them out several times on Violet.

 

The bass playing is absolutely unreal! I’ll say that is my favorite thing about the mix, the bass is super loud but not muddy at all

 

Title track is fucking great, this album is shaping up so well

 

listening to the pre release tracks for the first time--oh so this is gonna be even better than the first one huh?
