I LOVE Mox but this whole thing sucks lol

 

i think that you are more predisposed to liking WWE's style of pro wrestling combined with a lackluster episode of AEW during their bottom point of their lifespan thus far

i don't think AEW will be swaying any new viewers for the rest of this year until perhaps after All In

hopefully kenny beats takeshita for the IC strap, takeshita will then for sure head to japan and do some NJPW stuff for a bit would be my guess. then let kenny become the belt collector once more culminating in a victory over Okada in Texas and then he can absolve some of those belts

 

i watch dynamite every single weds unless i have a show, order every ppv, and i actually watch collision and i have to be real about it lol. AEW brought me back to wrestling and i'll keep watching until something totally egregious happens bc i want them to do well, but i have zero interest in Moxleys dumb ass title reign, private party, christopher daniels, jeff jarrett(he gets a pass sometimes), etc

They definitely need to get the title off of Mox and build a big main event storyline sooner rather than later. Tag team division needs a lot of work. Besides that the product has been fine. Omega/Takeshita and Swerve/Ricochet will be dope. Mercedes has been doing her best work in a long time. It’s not all bad like a lot of people are making it out to be. Nice to see them pop a big rating for last night too.

My controversial take is I like the sentiment of Mox’s promos and generally what he’s doing in-ring (I liked watching him and Hobbs beat the shit out of each other), the narrative execution is just really bad.

In general though I’ll take a C+ Dynamite over any Raw because it will generally still have at least three dope matches and a minimum of the kind of stuff that can make WWE so grating to me (“celebrity” cameos, endless recaps) and even when AEW’s storytelling outside of the ring isn’t bad, it’s not like WWE’s is miles better. I mostly want to watch good wrestling, so AEW is consistently very nice for that in a way WWE rarely is

 

MJF’s floundering is perplexing. Like who thought him/Jarrett would be a good idea? I’m hoping that’s not a PPV match lol

 

I just don’t like the constant interference and post match beatdowns of the death riders mostly

I remember when the pandemic was happening and the talk back then was even more prevalent about how he'd be thanos collecting all the belts

Funniest part is gonna be Nick Nemeth entering the Rumble.

That was one of the worst Dynamites in a while, sadly. As someone pointed out, 3 major beatdown segments in the same show means that by the time the 3rd one happens, it comes across as silly. And then there were 2 overly long promo segments (Jerichos NY minute going like 5mins, and MJF/JJ going WAY too long). Only thing that really worked all night was the womens gauntlet.

Mox as usual is doing great character/promo work, but yeah, the overall arc has definitely gotten muddled. OC/Darby/etc all HAD TO STOP MOX, until they lost a four-way match and they all disappear?

Same. I don't really care about all the other fluff. Lol hell, I was pissed last night cause they started with a Mox Vortex video package instead of a match.

 

I think you’re right, idk I think an aew match for me is too much for me to digest.

 

Agreed, last night’s Dynamite was dragged down badly by Jericho, MJF/JJ, and the beatdowns. I was so hopeful they’d actually use Christopher Daniels as an authority figure so that whenever a heel nearly murders someone, he’d step in and provide a consequence somehow lol. But that doesn’t seem to be happening.

They have plenty of talent (I have faith certain guys will figure their shit out) and AEW have had enough great shows amidst shitty ones that I’m still glad to tune in every week, whereas whenever I try to tune into WWE my fiancé finds it so bad that she leaves the room (Pat McAfee may play an outsized role in that).

 

Also this is a hot take but outside of Taz I think the announce team needs a make over

 

As flawed as wwe is, I feel like aew is just as flawed

 

Needs more Riccaboni

 

Really just need Jericho to go on tour.
