    Honestly, no.

It still gets viewed as a retirement league. You’ll see Messi shirts because Primark picks up cheap US sports team licenses for Europe (they also do the Giants, Bulls, Lakers, etc), but it’s not shown on TV afaik, and generally people think you must be obsessed if you know about MLS.

In truth, it’s fighting an uphill battle, where there’s probably about 10 European leagues that are of higher quality, shown at a better time, easier the watch, and make more sense format wise to an European audience (pro/rel, no playoffs, etc).

That said, people are definitely aware the league is improving from the days when it was on TV and the teams were League Two quality and was presented by charisma-vacuum Tim Lovejoy. The US generally has a pull here culturally (although, not in sports much) but public opinion can take a long time to change.

And there I was thinking it would be Dibling who takes the headlines in this game. Where has that Amad hat-trick come from???

Yeah, this is about how I expected it to be viewed. And it’s pretty fair tbh. The league is improving but still has a way to go. Part of the issue is that teams are limited on how to my can spend. Those rules use to make sense but imo it’s growing to the point where you need to let the teams spend as they please.

There are no limitations league-wise for teams to play in European competitions. My local team played in the Cup Winners Cup while being in the 3rd division.

    It's all hell.

I know this is Arteta prop/bait but I think online Arsenal fans who have been so negative recently about Mikel need to take stock. We haven't had it this consistently good since we last won the league (although I appreciate we only have the one fa cup since he took over). You cannot expect perfection unless you are quite literally cheating. Liverpool didn't take Klopp for granted and we shouldn't take this project for granted either.

Also, (other) Arsenal fans, do you know you’re one of the few teams where a club legend coming back to coach hasn’t been up to a total disaster? You’ve got a guy who loves your club AND can do the job. A lot of other clubs can’t say that. Rooney, Lampard, Xavi…

What made it worse…I initially got into the sport because of Messi. So I was, and still consider myself, a Barca fan. I started getting into Spurs and those two guys were big reasons why. And both were shipped off to Madrid lol this club has been hurting me since the beginning.

As a Barca fan first, Bale and Modric being Spurs fans is a large reason why I’d never root for Spurs. Those Dempsey years got murky, admittedly.

  19. Dempsey in 2010 WC got me interested in following the sport more. I started watching PL and liked Spurs. Then Dempsey joined and it was confirmed.

Yeah, but imagine how funny it will be if they do get sent to league two.

    (I’m aware that won’t happen)

  23. Sounds like Davies will be back this weekend and then Romero and VDV at some point over the next couple weeks. Hopefully we still go after a LB this window. Dorgu is a great option and seems to be available.

James Garner is back for us. Hopefully we utilise him as a no.10 as he's a creative outlet and we need to score.

Yeah, Bale is the reason I started watching and it’s been pain ever since lol
