  1. They said he’s putting too much pressure on our players with those expectations.

    Insane.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Media truly are brain dead when it comes to spurs. Nothing we do will satisfy them.

  3. There’s fair criticism for Ange but that ain’t it haha

Idk what to say you just have to stop reading and listening to sports media it’s awful across all sports/leagues. They make money by being derisive and inflammatory.

  5. It’s funny. Because with American sports I tune it out pretty well. But the English media somehow gets me lol

  6. Also, there are some rumors cooking up of Neymar to MLS, specifically Chicago. Over/under 5 games played in a season?

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Case in point is the change in tune from the BBC (unsure if others will follow) to suggesting that Newcastle are now title contenders. Only 3 teams, 9 points and a game in hand to overcome. No problem...

That all being said, if you think football media is shit, try F1 for size. Football has plenty of dross, but it's also easy to find good stuff. F1 reporting is hilariously behind.

Edit: Forgot to quote the posts about media. :crylaugh:

We have 0 healthy LBs. Haven’t been linked to one.

We have 1 healthy CB. Haven’t been linked to one.

There is zero urgency from the club right now. How is that possible? I’m not expecting to be like City and splashing 150m like it’s nothing. But there needs to be some kind of urgency here. Good job with the keeper. But the keeper only matters so much when your defenders are depleted and running on fumes.

I think it's easy for heads to proverbially fall off during the January window if you support a team that needs to invest. Truth is, time and time again it's been proven there's not much quality available out there this time of year. Definitely not for realistic fees, especially.

  11. I get that. But a club like Tottenham can make it happen imo. Do you have to overpay to make it happen? Maybe. But that’s the situation right now. I think we’re the 8th richest club in the world? Act like it for once. These aren’t normal circumstances.

Still no idea if he’s actually good or not

No judgement, but going for a loan with option request is pretty ballsy. Got to imagine the option is easy to hit (avoid relegation or something), cause otherwise why on earth would Leipzig accept that for one of the hottest ST prospects on the planet?

  14. It’s not uncommon to hear a manager plead for signings and say his squad needs help. And we’re getting that with Ange. But we’re also seeing players say the same thing. Repeatedly. Asking for help from the club.

When situations like this happen you start to worry if the players will give up on the manager. I don’t think that’s happening with Ange as of now. But I am worried that players will give up on the club. And wouldn’t blame them tbh.

I’d assume the option would have to be a higher amount that they would accept in an obligation, cause otherwise I also have no idea haha.

Also makes me worry that they aren’t entirely convinced.

Everton are being linked to a 36 year-old Willian. I think I reserve the right to be the most frustrated lol

  17. I know this has a very low chance of happening but…

What happens if Spurs win Europa but are relegated? Can a Championship team play in CL?

Believe so, yes. Pretty sure Wigan Athletic played Europa League when they won the FA Cup but were relegated 10 years or so ago.

Yes. I believe it happened to Wigan when they won the cup. Millwall definitely played in Europe whilst in The Championship.

  20. And that got me thinking…

If Spurs were relegated but then won Championship, do we get to say we ended the trophy drought?

    (I don’t think we’ll be relegated)

The words “Willian on a free” give me horrific flashbacks.

Every club has crap players, but there’s never been a player I hated at Arsenal, other than him. On the plus side, he did cancel his contract for no money at the end so that made people less angry.

  22. It feels like the quality of MLS has picked up quite a bit in recent years. And not just because of Messi and Miami, but just in general. Does that league get much fandom at all in UK or other parts of Europe?

  23. Rashford having a rough time lately. I hope he finds a good move for him and is able to get in form again soon.

Finest example of the scum English press there, trying to drag him into that
