Idk if I'm on an island but I really really hate the look of raw right now. It just looks, drab. The Grey ring, the smaller entrance ramp, the over use of drone shots, mcafee sucks, and the product being pretty stale at the moment.

 

I kinda love how the internet has come for Corey Graves after he complained on Twitter.

The dark ring is fine (its worked in other promotions), the ads are what kill it. But them going to minimal stage production to fill arenas is a huge mistake. Run the venues at 10k instead of 12.5k and just charge 20% more (people will pay it, honestly), and bring back the entrance ramp. Like obviously the WM stage is crazy big...but that Hardy Boys return at WM on that ramp looks epic. The seth WM cash-in looks epic. Penta's debut (as epic as his look is), feels very "entering a bingo hall" if they dont have 20 fire cannons going off behind him.

And the drone shots are terrible. The camera quality is bad. Again, sacrificing production quality to squeeze like 50 more people into the seats where the crane should be. It works in UFC because the fighters are contained in a tiny space and can never go elsewhere. They love those drone shots for out of ring action and it looks way worse than floor cameras.

 

Oops they ran too long lol. I guess Roxy costs Bayley the title match on Friday and moves up that way?

 

Why did penta never have a real singles run in AEW? He looked like a super duper star on Monday

 

i dislike the new Raw ring mat but weirdly am okay with the rest and love the minimal stage setups, seeing the fans seated behind the entryway, etc. besides the early-mid-00s Raw and SD stages, these are probably my fav sets

 

the sheets always said that Lucha Bros wanted to be a tag team only attraction, and any singles time was due to the other brother being injured. i'd have to guess they were more willing to be flexible for WWE money

i don't mean that cynical i know it's penta dream and shit too

 

Saw some post from an account named AEWDefender saying how AEW makes stars for WWE and that people never get stale in AEW…. Ok then. Weird to see the tribalism go the other way
